Good news. If the wifi was still working (though there's a difference between it showing 'on' and actually working, so please clarify), then you likely didn't have the airplane mode problem, but rather, no service.Gotta change my vote. This Moment is cool as hell but SLOW at times, and as I was selecting and voting on my Moment on this forum, the answer it submitted was wrong. Buttons reacted so slowly I couldn't stop it in time. Damn! I HAVE used WiFi and I HAVE had the "airplane mode" problem, just 30 mins ago for the second time. 'X' in the signal bars, not moving, airplane mode was "on" when I checked, but taking it out of airplane mode did not cure it. Soft reset both times cleared it up. WiFi indicator still showing connected.
Phone plugged in, WiFi turned ON, connected to Sprint MiFi, WiFi switching app widget installed, good reception but busy locally due to massive snowstorm right now.

My power had gone out so my alarm clock didn't go off and when I looked at my phone.... "NO SIGNAL" so of course I didn't wake up to all of my boss's phone calls. YIKES!! I searched through my phone a bit and sure enough.. airplane mode was on.
I accessed the "Wireless and Network Settings" menu and switched on wifi. I then turned it back off and didn't touch anything else, so it let the screen time out so it went black. 10 seconds later.. it displayed "Samsung" with a loading bar going across the bottom of the screen. It "loaded" whatever it was doing and the screen went black again.. I pressed the red "end call" button.. NOTHING. I held down the "end call" button and it went through the process of powering on the phone!?!? It turned my phone OFF after accessing wifi!!!!!
But I will report back with my findings
