ok so i have a normal hero and im looking to root my phone but i have no idea how. someone told me to auto root it becasue its VERY easy, but where do i go about auto rooting it.

Check the "rooting guide" sticky.

I personally suggest doing it manually, just copy and paste the code in the order it tells you to. It's really quite simple, even though it looks a bit confusing. I've only seen people have troubles with the auto-rooter, and then they just come back here asking for help

when you say normal Hero... do you mean a Sprint Hero? or a GSM (UK) Hero?

Maybe if we could make the Topic Flash Like A Bright Neon Sign, people would start there
