Help Automatic Activation

I have a Prevail that I do not have connected for phone service and only use for wifi at home, the problem is the phone is always wanting to auto activate itself every time the phone reboots and there seems to be no way to stop this. Is there any alternative or way to get the phone to stop having the activation screen from popping up every time the phone boots?

I may be wrong, but I think that installing ShabbyMod will prevent the phone from broadcasting that it is a Prevail to get the message you are talking about. Wait for verification on this.

Well im guessing thats popping up because it's not activated correct? If thats the case turn it into airplane mode from the wireless settings and this will stop it everytime you boot up.

if your talking about the battery not really because the other signal is off anyways. gps i find is what really kills.

He is using the phone(on wifi instead of on cell network) and yes airplane mode would kill wifi too.

I would think putting shabbymod on would stop the activation but I do not know.

I have been using my wifi on airplane mode since i got the phone about 3 or 4 days ago, stock, rooted, and shabby'd

That sounds strange.

Ok just did that put it in airplane mode and it shut off wifi, but I was able to turn wifi back on with airplane mode on as well.

That does not make sense to me as I thought airplane mode was supposed to kill all signals out, to keep the interference from the plane.

I put my phone in airplane mode and turn on wifi at work quite often. I remember thinking that it would not work. When it did, I thought that that was a tweak from Shabbymod because I thought that it would not do that with stock. So, it will do it with stock also?

It's true that I can put the phone in Airplane mode, but then I have to always manually activate wifi. All that would be doing is trading off one process for another. Instead of always having to stop the activation, now I will always have to manually turn on wifi. I shouldn't have to do either.
