Auxiliary Audio Cable with Inline Remote Control

So I was wondering if there existed a product that has an inline remote that you plug into the headphone jack that instead of having headphones on the end, has an auxiliary cable (or a jack to plug one in) to plug into a speaker system.

So in other words, I plug the cable with the remote into my phone, and then on the other end of the cable is another male 1/8" connector that I can plug into the aux input on my car stereo (or just a female side to plug in another cable).

So I really only found two products from searching. The Griffin is probably the more promising one. But of course, most of these types of accessories are made with "i" devices in mind, and may or may not work well with Android devices. Has anyone used one? I do have player controls on my lock screen, but this would be a lot safer and easier.

Edit: it looks like there's a couple of similar products on the suggested items on Amazon. I'll check those out, too.
 
I've been looking for something like this for weeks now! I bought the perfect pair of headphone - luckily the aux cable was detachable. I can't believe they don't exist yet - but I haven't found anything locally or online :(

Since you posted this, have you had any luck?
 
You could make your own if you're not scared! You should be able to take headphones with inline controls, cut off the speaker ends..... take an aux cable (or another pair of old headphones - just using the plug end) and cut the wire....and splice the two together. The wire AFTER the controls should only be two wires representing the two channels of audio. Presumably there are at least 3 (maybe 4) wires that run from the player to the controls - at least based on the segments of the headphone jack from my included headphones.

This assumes that the headphone's inline controls work with your phone in the first place. You should confirm that first! I'm SURE that Apple uses some proprietary format for their controls so it probably wouldn't work with android.
 
Replying to a 3 years old forum but the MEElectronics is still one of the few i found working with android which brings me to another question. Does such 'android' cable work with headphones which normally come with an 'apple' cable in this case skullcandy navigator?
