Avail keyboard help

I am new to the whole android-smartphone world and have a problem with the keyboard on the At&T Avail. I have difficulty hitting the correct keys (probably because I'm an old retired guy, technically challenged, and have fat fingers). Is there a way to download a different keyboard and how would I go about doing that?

Moving to the Avail section.

There are a bunch of keyboards available via Play (aka market). Some are free, some not. Most have at least a free trial. I use SwiftkeyX myself. I don't own an Avail, so I can't help you with what works best with your specific phone. Try a couple and tell us what you think. have fun!!!

What a life saver. Or radioshack has a stylus touch capacitive that is really tiny on the tip so it can hit the small keys. It is 27 dollars.

In the stock ROM, there are two keyboards: Android keyboard and XT9 keyboard. Part of the XT9 keyboard includes a 10 key setup like a normal phone, however the T9 style program in the XT9 system sucks and doesn't allow "custom" words as far as I'm aware.
