Root [Avail] Ok Check it out AVAIL 2.3.5 WORKING

brohn

Newbie
I managed to port one.three 2.3.4 onto the VIVO Brazil 2.3.5 Rom to create...

DUN... DUN... DUN... a working 2.3.5 port.

From what I've seen its a fully working one.three kernel on a fully working 2.3.5 GB Rom.

MMS error resolved.... :D
H-Band works... :D
AT&T Tether blocking bypassed... :D

only thing I haven't tested is the blue tooth... If it's broken let me know...
I think a few file swaps will fix it... I'll pull from the original stock AT&T avail Rom for that... I never use it so I didn't try it.

I left this copy as close to the original state as I could from the port.

Shout Outs:

Thank you SAMROX144, Your port guide was the one that worked After trying about 20 of em.

Anthony Thank You for the Avail One.Three kernel.

I also want to thank Sebastian404 for his links to the stock firmware I used for the port.

Possible Upgrades to consider:

I suggest using Zepplinrox V6 Scripts on the phone. With the Init.d installed it will become a boot loading script. Thanks Zepplinrox

Any questions or concerns please feel free to ask...

you will notice AT&T and VIVO will Pop up. Like I said I kept it original to the port. VIVO logo is nothing more than a boot animation easy to get rid of it.

If your interested Send me a Message and ill give you a copy of my personal copies of the Rom.

Future Plans for the Rom:

Remove Carrier Boot Logo

Keep an Eye out Going to Attempt Cyangenmod installation on this Rom next.. Moving the Rom into 2.3.5 I believe will make this mission easier...

I had 2.3.5 running a few months ago with MH-1.0.1E (VIP based) :P, whit the kernel included. AreaROM Merit is also 2.3.5, which is a combination of my own and someone elses work. To switch the boot logo, break apart the boot.img and make your changes.

(On a side note, I had true init.d support working a few days ago, but my Avail died).

My VIP based ROM works on the AT&T phone, but apparently I forgot to include a keyboard. As for AR Merit, it has a keyboard and runs similar to the Merit.

brohn, as it is worked on a version one.thre, SMS will work? :confused:I do not know how much you're being sent to problems with SMS who do not work in the U.S. ROMs for Europeans.
I'll try rom, but I think you should throw out any unnecessary app. Suppose MOTORHEAD VIP had only 83mb, but I am it decreased to 72mb more by eliminating something I should not necessary. I can get it out of this rom unnecessary app, but it's better to be alone ROM without them.
I hope you'll take care of it in the final version.:D

Between this VIVO and my VIP, the Euro ROMs are covered. My VIP based ROM hasn't been tested much in tge U.S. but Zajchik has used it fir months.

Shit:(, not work a sms. Behaves the same as when I changed the MMS of the AR rom of motorhead, with my app MMS from VIP will not open a service center. Getting FORCE CLOSE.
In one.thre and other ROMs based on the U.S. can open the service center, but does not accept the code.

the SMS works in America... I'm about to post a app cleaned and true Init.d enabled ROM here in about 20 mins keep an eye out.

@ zajchik interesting, I have not had any SMS issues with this ROM...

I'm in America using AT&T... as I can Tell it all runs correctly,

The second version of this rom had the vivo bloat removed but I'm trying not to remove the "android" firmware options, ie: network location, feedback etc... I remove them from my personal roms but others my enjoy those options... it's very easy to remove an apk and resign a rom. The google playstore was acting up so i replaced the zip file located in the apps directory which seems to have fixed it. As soon as this loads to my drop box i'll have it posted..

I dont believe the SMS issue is a kernel issue i think, it is only a .conf issue. i've tried about 15 ways to force the SMS to work.. I don't believe it is a US/EURO issue, as the standards of google testing is the same for both countries, read the guide above for porting.. that's all that I did and it works great for me. I think it should be very similar on all "roamer" build phones...

Oh and For the non-AT&T users, you can remove the .zip file out of the system/app directory.. It just for the AT&T play store.

Not sure question the kernel. Ever since that
first rom one.one built by Anthony up to
yours, or a ROM-based U.S. has not
worked on the SMS Roamer. Everything else
works great. I tried the apn backup but he
fixes only GPRS and MMS, but SMS does
not affect anything. Motorhead tried to
change settings in the European region, but
that did not work. The settings for sms
when you try to insert a number of service
center nothing happens, the phone can not
save the number.

I have no way of testing it, but I do know that the original VIVO BR Rom was used in this build, and the one.three, the one.three is based on a us version... I know that when I attempted to use the Vivo clean rom... my SMS was broken as well, I attempted to swap out the kernel originally, I can almost 100% tell you that the SMS issue is not located in the kernel, after my trial and error... pm me a link to your base rom and i'll look at it.. the APN backup didn't work for me either

list of apk in rom found at this link
list of apk REQUIRED for rom to operate at this link

Now that being said you will need a launcher, a camera, and an mms/sms app for you to have those options, but the apps in the second group MUST be in an ROAMER rom for it to operate at Minimum... if your not ATT you can remove the .zip

if you need a zip signer i use the PPCGeeks / AndroidSigner program.

current mms on this rom is the Vivo mms, not the avail, look into the 3 .conf files, conf.xml and the init* files. I attempted, deoxying vivo into avail, I swapped multiple kernels and nothing fixed it, the oxy file is written to the phone specific so I thought that deoxy the 2 together might fix it.. nope, I did full swap of mms apks, nothing... I tried kernels, nope. Pure un-modded roms, modded kernels , nothing fixed the vivo mms for my phone.

the only fix i found was after swapping:

apns-conf.xml
dbus.conf
gps.conf
hosts
init* files
media-profiles.xml
resolv.conf
sensors.conf
sysctl.conf
vold.fstab

I'm hoping that I can use the Blade GB CM7 to port over to this ROM, the both use the libra drivers, so the systems should be similar, my concern is in the kernel, I dont think the kernel will mesh onto the blades drivers correctly. The android was designed to be almost completely plug and play, so all phones using Roamer series boards SHOULD swap easy. It should be only settings. The conversion from Roamer to blade board is going to be harder, both are arm6, both run libra. both are ZTE I believe its the closest match.

all the cm build.props i've looked at say blade under device, I haven't taken the time yet to pull out a stock firmware... I think i'll have to build from scratch, stock onto stock and build from there. we have a lot of great devs out there but I believe things can become tainted as more hands touch em.

i'll pull a stock down today and start, the first think I did with the avail and vivo roamer was go file by file and compare them until i knew all the differences in the Rom. I'll do that with the blade after I have my list. MH i'll get with you.
