Root [Avail] [ROM] one.three [kernel1.0 included plus video fix] (update Apr 12)

In CWM it's Advanced -> Fix Permissions. Advanced option is right below the mounts and storage option.

Yeah, I don't have any of that when I boot into recovery. I'm not plugged into my computer though either.

When pluggged into the computer, I have seen those options, but I don't have my charge cord at the moment.

I did, however, install a fix permission's app but that didn't work. :(

As I alluded to earlier, There were two things that could have caused me to lose my audio: removing a system app or installing a Go* app. I'm not sure which one would have caused it to happen as I didn't notice it till after both things had occurred.

Another curious thing is that when the sound goes, so does the bluetooth.

That's factory recovery. CWM has to be installed.

Based on what Russ said, here is what you need to do:

1. flash the t-card update found here.

2. follow the guide on flashing CWM here.

3. Now flash one.three
 
Thanks, Zeldafan! I couldn't do all the typing behind the wheel of this log truck. BTW- Why doesn't everybody do the t-card update method? Its so simple.
 
Ahh...yes, that explains why I see different stuff when I boot into recovery.

I had had CWM installed when I initially rooted my Avail. It's just that when I flashed back to stock and back again, I forgot to reflash the CWM recovery, hence the absence of CWM and presence of stock recovery.

On the first point, I'm assuming that the t-card flash is an earlier stock build version? If so, then that's what I had to do to even be able to root this device, as I had the latest build version which has the dialer code hole locked down.

Again, let me reiterate, my issue is not being able to get one.three flashed, it's the subsequent issues that I'm having. Perhaps I should start a new thread...lol
 
Hmm...I think that I might have discovered a possible explanation.

In my G+ post, I have a link to another forum where a fella' put together a batch file that automates the rooting process after inputting the 983 code into the dialer. It's after using that batch file that I lose the sound.
 
I think that I have made some progress. Instead of using that batch file to automate the rooting process, I actually issued all the adb shell commands one-by-one. Upon the first reboot, I got no sound, but after forging ahead and completing the root process, I rebooted to sound...

I'm currently backing up all system apps. After that's complete, I will proceed to remove all the system apps I no longer wish to be present on my phone. I will reboot inbetween each removal to see if I can narrow down anything.

If all seems to go well there, I will then proceed to install the other apps I had on before. Again, I will reboot between each app installation.
 
If you get the toast mess. after you put in the dialer code, you are rooted. From there, install Super user app and your good to go. Maybe I'm not understanding, but, why use adb? I did everything with zip files downloaded by the phone.
Don't remove the email app if you want the camera to work.
 
The super user app, for some reason or another, wouldn't work for me. It would hang at the point where it was finalizing the root. The batch file automates all the adb commands that can be found here

At any rate, I lost sound rooting my way and I'm trying to figure out why...I'm thinking that it was the batch file. I'm trying to prove that it was that and not the removing of a system app by rebooting my phone after every uninstall.
 
He did an update to fix the hang issue. But, getting Superuser3 fixed it for me in June.
But, my money is on the batch file.

I've uninstalled all the apps - except for mobile care...- and I still have sound. I'm in the process of adding back in the apps/widgets that I want, following the same process. So far so good.

Speaking of apps, I've tried my google-fu to see if I could find a list of system apps that are safe to remove, but I haven't found anything conclusive. Anybody have a list that they care to share?
 
There may be a total of 3 out right now. Not alot of development has been done with ROMs for the phone. High end devices get more attention from devs and dev teams. Plus, there are a couple private ones out if you can find them.

Next kernel (boy, I'm thinking ahead), maybe ext4 support as well?

I like the speed + journaling of ext4 over 2 or 3

Not sure what it would take, tho, as far as the makeconfig.

It has more speed and memory than most. Just the "Why did ZTE do THAT?" stuff gets in the way...lol

(I'm thinking to stop Android from overtaking the iPayAlot phone...)
