Help avoid no sleep bug?

What bothers me, is that if you are right, than why IK5 did not do the trick, as 'no sleep' was almost certainly a 1.6 'feature'

Only managed to reproduce the bug once today. So basically, a reboot in the morning may be helpful )

It seems to have something to do with plugging and unplugging from my pc (not the charger!). But it does not happen every time.

i didnt think it would be baseband as thats the phone (radio) and not the system

I know that, but the point is that I never got the bug initiation from a wall charger.

To sum up, I'm pretty tired of the testing, I shall remain on JC6 no matter what and simply look out for the bug to appear. I'm used to checking the sleep percentage anyway, as I look out for poorly written apps. And when it appears, I'll just reboot and it will go away.

Hopefully, of course, it will be fixed after couple of releases, that is if Samsung know about it! As depending on how they are testing the firmwares, they may not be aware of it.

So worth a try to reboot after each charge and see if 'no sleep' bug reappears before another recharge.

ok, i did some testing with different basebands and here my results:

ik5: no sleep, 3g bug
ik4: no sleep, 3g bug
ii5: no sleep, 3g bug
ii4: no sleep (never sleeps)
ih8: fine but draining battery faster overall
ih7: 3d slow

so for me the ih8 baseband is best choice for now since i can live with charging every day, but not with suddenly having empty battery occasionaly. only thing i see is that wifi tether semms to be dead for now.

dont ask me, but it looks like. maybe baseband contains the hardware stuff (something like low level drivers. i also saw this old bug where the display flickers...
with ih8 i am eaven able to play raging thunder 2...

ok i suffered no sleep bug when i had rebooted after long charge, no gps or location aware stuff going on, no wireless networks use, no background data.
the thing i did do however is connect my phone to my stereo using the audio jack while i was in my gym

so im guessing any type of connectivity be it audio or usb or charging can trigger this off

one more issue removed by ih8 baseband: wifi reconnects after sleep!
