There is a very good list at the end suggesting things to check if the Unroot fails. It pays to make sure your USB cable is Samsung and is working OK.

You're welcome. I have been through the odd drama myself and found the USB cable can be quite critical in the operation. Genuine Samsung cable was faulty on one occasion and having to repeat the process 3-4 times to get an Odin pass on another.

Only chiming in to state that rule 4 or was it 7 that with a Custom Recovery, Never do factory reset with a custom recovery. Only use the wipe data and dalvik cache and cache from inside the Recovery.
