Backup blunders

Hi there!

I just backed up my X10 mini pro, and updated to 2.1
Then my phone told me I had a damaged memmory card, so I spent three hours restoring the data, including the backup file.
I then pasted all the files onto the newly formatted memory card, so everything was as before.
Only problem is, now the backup and restore at can

The one Sony pushes...

EDIT:

I did it!
the sony backup program on 1.6 saves the file as an .SBF
The new 2.1 system saves them as .sbf, just rename it!

Oh, and if anyone has the same problem with the update corrupting your memory card, just get the program called "recover my files" by getdata (Legally of course...)

That is really interesting, so many people have been caught out by this. Is it honestly that simple, the difference between capitals and lower case!?! Wow.

I backed up my gf's apps, data and Contacts using my backup pro to the SD Card.

Everything reinstalled ok except her contacts (most important) kept saying to sign up to android account!

I emailed MBUP people who came back and said you need to have a google account!

Erm, she does and the phone is all ok, except stupid app won't restore the contacts!

They have not replied to me since I pointed out out the phone is logged onto google.

Really annoying as we can view the contacts but can't restore them!

Any ideas?

The backup and restore app doesn't backup contacts that have been synced either with Google or Sony Ericsson sync, so maybe she has done this without realising. If you set the phone up to the same google account as it was before and select Google contacts from within the Phonebook they may well appear. You could also try selecting SE sync if the google one doesn't do the trick.
