Help Backup problems

What about the updating part?

Excuse me for asking but I believe a stupid question is a question never asked: what is "wiping?"

Thanks again for your time!:o:o

Sounds to me like you need to root your phone. Then you will be able to do so much more. You will have more storage than you know what to do with. Just go to the prevail rooted section and at the top use the guide for dummies. http://androidforums.com/showthread.php?t=537889

+ 1 on rooting the phone. It will give your phone a performance boost and also allow you to set it up were you can have more apps. Data2ext is a great thing. :D

I'm still very confused as to exactly what you're trying accomplish.

What are you hoping to update to?

Thanks for stepping in guys passed out on this last night.

I'm stumped on what exactly this person is trying to do or upgrade to since as far as official updates, she is already current

From what I understand, she had heard that there were new Android updates out and she wanted to update her phone. She didn't know that the updates wouldn't work on her Prevail and that GingerBread was as far as her phone could go. She is also having the same problem just about all stock non-rooted users have.... she's running out of internal storage.

She needs to root her phone and get a ROM with built-in data2ext.

Hi!
I knew that I could go no further with Gingerbread.
Maybe I used the wrong term. I want to UPGRADE not just update.

1 up or perhaps even 2.

Right now I gotta go get another SD card cuz this one is full and also with more speed. Mine was 4 and I need at least 10.
And also I gotta figure out how to restore my Android files from the sd. I downloaded a SD mgr and it showed them and even opened them but left them there.
I see them but don't know what to do with 'em! So sad....

Hmmm..okkkk. silly me traded ads to the original stock one and it's sooooo slowwww. Besides the other still has the Android..

Duhhhhh!!

As a result, something (probably y'all trying to answer) is forever trying to load...
Be back later with a new one!

THANKS Y'LL!!!:o:o:o:o:o:o

Just backed up your entire SD card to your PC, meaning take your SD card plug it into a card reader and copy and paste to a folder on your PC, or with card still in phone plug in phone to pc, select copy files from the pull down and then copy and paste to your PC. When you get your new card you just have the partition it and then copy and paste all of the documents and files from your PC back onto your new card.

Ok....how you all doin? Finally payday has come around and am goin to buy that SD card. I got a couple of quick questions for ya:
I know that you had me look at the card at the little number and said it had to be at least 10 to flash...is that the speed or the class? I'm on the sandisk site shopping.,.and found that SD you all were talking about and it says sandisk ultra microsdhc uhs-1 for mobiles. The card has a 1 on it but the chart says it is class 10 and it says it is compatible with the prevail. Also my cards don't have the uhm on it. Is this the right one?
Thanks, Ginny.

It's class 10, so it's the highest speed available. Never had a problem with a Sandisk card ! Go for it, but before you buy at the Sandisk store, google the item number, you might find the card somewhere else cheaper ! ;)
