Root Backups

Does titanium backup or app backup and restore seem to work better for the triumph when changing roms etc? I reinstall purchased apps from the market but looking for a way to do the free apps without having to search for them all again in the market.

I useTi Backup myself, with no problems at all.
I regularly use Froyocreamsandwich, CM7, CM9 and once in a blue moon, stock. No problems. Just be very careful which apps you restore data from (if any).
You'll find several here that think it causes problems, but you just have to be selective.

I also use AppExtractor, to restore wifi/bt settings, SMS/mms, call logs etc from Nandroid backups. It can also just extract .apk files from your Nandroids. Also be careful with that, between froyo and CM7 based stuff.

I also use appextractor to extract apks from my nandroid backups. You do have to be careful not to install anything that's meant to be on Frito on Cm7 or Cm9, etc. just like thangfish said.
