Root BadSeedCustoms JB Tranquility RLS3 2/16/13

i flashed this (at the time) i had the really old firmaware with no issues.

and it does not say if it has xhausx's s-on kernel installer or not.

i would flash it like normal. if you are coming from a sense rom the kernel may work with this rom. if not then you can just reboot into fastboot and fastboot command the boot.img.

Okay awesome...I am really eager to try a new Sense ROM other then the stock I have been running.

i have tried most of the jb roms out, but i keep coming back to the pacman rom. it is aosp but man it is so fast, small in size, and has given me the best battery life with the komodo kernel. i highly recommend that you at least give it a try. i would also recommend that you pull the boot img and fastboot the kernel in.

Sounds good...I may give pacman a try after I give this a try first.

I have no idea what happened, but I flashed this last night and it just keep going into the boot screen over and over. I had a hell of a time trying to get the phone to shut down not being able to pull the battery and getting back into HBOOT so I could access TWRP to restore a backup.

did you try to fastboot the boot.img in?...i might be the kernel....not really sure.

So should I flash the ROM, than fastboot the boot.img in then restart instead of restarting right after I flash the ROM? Also should I clear cache & dalvik in between flashing the ROM and fastbooting the kernel in?

if you flash the rom and boot.img in the same session then no you will not have to wipe dalvik cache and cache(either way it does not hurt really).

well with badseed i was not sure that it had the s-on kernel installer. now it seems like it does not. what you could have done is rebooted into recovery and wipe dalvik cache and cache, boot into fastboot and then fastboot command the boot.img in.

but a fresh re-flash of both the rom and boot.img will not hurt.

Okay, sounds good...just got back home now and I'm gonna give it a try.

This ROM is actually really cool! I've been running it for a week or so and really enjoy some of the stuff to play with. I've been playing with the bistro and trying to make a couple of my own MODS for it. If I get them working, I'll post a couple. It's fun learning though

Think I'll download that this evening, been using this a few weeks now, it's virtually flawless, only bug I've found is the calculator widget will stop periodically, no biggie :)

Found something else to love. I'm sure I'm late to this specific feature. LOL

One thing I missed from Viper was the pull down that gave me access to toggles (especially a one-touch button for GPS). While updating apps, I found one I had hidden: Notification Toggle. I had hidden it in Nova without finding out what it did the day I flashed.

I love that the BadSeed guys added this. I find it exceptionally useful to get to my network radios, flashlight, GPS and such.

RLS2 has some REALLY good battery life on it 7 hours running the GPS, and Pandora, which has a very nice opening screen :D ;), and I'm still at 43%. Very happy with this. Bad Seed rocks!
