What root method did you use?
Since you seem to be one of the few that has kernel #6 in a standalone version, can you tell the people asking where to get it? Or share a link? Everybody is completely ignoring the people asking where to get it. It makes no sense. I have never seen this kernel anywhere to download, but obviously you got it somewhere.

It is exclusive to baked snack shack members. Sometimes you have to pay to play. This is one of those times. You can still use any of his other kernels available for download, or kings, or netarchy if you don't want to join the club. I am thinking about joining for the #6 kernel and the forum access as information on baked snack 1.8 is limited.
I have baked snack 1.7 with the kernel already. I'm not switching so I really don't care. But it seems to be the most guarded piece of EVO property in the world, and I just don't get it. Some people want it and no one seems to be sharing. Restricting access to people that just want to learn on the baked snack forums is ridiculous. What's the point?

Ok, listen. I got the kernal where everyone else got the kernal; from the release post on the Baked Snacks forum. huoter from the Baked Snack forum has registered here as a member. His/her member name here is huoter. I would suggest that anyone that has question regarding registration issues or access to the kernal send him/her a PM and voice your concerns.
The ROM and kernal links were released early to those who donated. When Her
ver is ready to release everything to the public he will and the kernel should be available as well.
It's not my job to defend or explain or justify his actions. I wanted access to the ROM and kernal before the public release. I donated and registered and if I had difficulties accessing the site I would direct my questions to those who can best answer them.
In other news; an unidentified man went to Chipotle last night looking for Chick-fil-A's new Spicy Chicken Nuggets. The man was reportedly frustrated when the staff could not fulfill his request. Film at 11

If Chipotle was smart, they wouldn't have let the customer get out of the store. Make the damn nuggets. They're just nuggets.

im thinking about trying this one out, im on fresh 3.3, i am hesitant because i cant download the #6 kernel, and for some reason the link for the radio isnt working either so i cant download and flash that. also i am would like to know if anyone out there can tell me if it really is necessary to flash the #6 kernel for it to work well. thanks.
I notice overall the phone was smoother when I flashed over kernel #6 and also battery usage was better. But yea unfortunately you need to be registered to get that kernel.
Wow that sucks..after Houter signed up here to post and apologized I figured he would take care of it specifically after you replied right after his post.

You don't have to pay to get the kernel. You can just wait until the public release. No on HAS to pay for anything from bakedsnacks. Those who donated just got early access to the pre-release ROM and kernal.

Well I sent an email from within the Baked Snack forum on your behalf and I haven't heard anything either so maybe it truly is a direct conspiracy to keep you from getting access. 
I'm sure it stinks to be having all this trouble but the reality is that plenty of people have been getting access with minimal issues. So you can either believe that the Baked Snack guys suck and used the lure of their ROM and kernel as a way to scam you out of your money or you can see that there is obviously something unusual going on and try to get to the bottom of it in a reasoned and reasonable manner. I have a feeling that the former course of action will only lead to more anger and frustration.
But hey, there's always CM6!

Thank you for sending the message for me. The only reason I am trying to get kernel #6 is because every other I have tried is killing my battery. I have used Netarchy's 4.1.9 CFS/BFS, Kingz #8 9 and 10. Bakedbattery and BakedSpeed. All give similar results. When I was on 1.7 using NAs CFS 4.1.9, I was in battery heaven. Not the case on 1.8..I have been reading that #6 is working well for people.
Fact is, #6 has always not been available. Even when on 1.5 when the threads were on XDA #6 was not listed...it was just always stated the original flash of the rom installed #6, but if anyone tried a diff kernel, they were screwed trying to get back....i know i know...nand backup, but hell...who knew #6 was Area 51 material..Sheesh!!!

try kings #6 CFS. awesome battery life so far... (maybe even better than baked #6).

aznmode has a youtube video of baked snack 1.7 but I haven't seen much difference visually. The dock bar looks a little different than stock and the battery life indicator in the notification bar is circular but it basically looks like Sense...
