Sorry for putting the xda link on here but I was trying to locate any up to date info on the roms but it seems only members can view them. Oh and by the way you mispelled the link so it just takes you to a server not found. I corrected it on this reply.

In that request state the email address you donated with and send it. Usually I will authorize you within minutes. But if I am sleeping I may not get it until the morning.

With that said....I created my acct before I knew a donation was required. After I saw on here the only way to gain access was to donate...I went back and paypal 5 bucks. Yet each and every time I click forums, yet again today, I get the box that says

"Authorized Users Only

Sorry, but only authorized users can proceed in this area. You can use the form below to send a request to the administrators. Request Access"

What gives??

Dude, you quoted the answer to your question right there. I bolded it in jdubz quote.

When you get to the part asking you to send a request, put the email address you used when you donated (which is likely your paypal address) and then send the request. Give it a day or so and see what happens then.

Just what exactly do you think i'm done 11tybillion times? I'm not new to the Interwebz.
 
Been following this thread for a bit. So, would you guys recommend installing the 1.7 or 1.8 version because some have complained about the battery life on 1.8.

Also, the radio version on baked snack's site is no longer valid. There is a new radio version 2.15.00.09.01. Does anyone have any problems using that radio or should I go back to the old version 07.28? Thanks!

I've been using the newer radio for awhile now, with several different ROMs, without issue.
 
It's newer than the one on listed in the baked snacks post for Baked Snacks 1.8. That post was dated 8/25.

I would say start with 1.7 first. There is nothing currently wrong with it.
 
I name back to 1.7 my Browser was FCsing everytime I wanted to go to the previous page,never had a problem with 1.7 and is not like 1.8 performs better in any way.
 
Ok, so I installed Baked Snack 1.7, updated my profile and PRL. On the system info, it shows:

Kernel - 2.6.32.15HeroMod
hero@hero-over #2

Should it not be kernel 6 (which is included?)

That is #6. According to Hero_over there there was just a problem with the naming.
 
Just when I finally got access to the forum and my hands on #6, standalone, I switch to CM6. Not going back!!!!
 
Glad you found a ROM you really like. I've heard much about CM6 and I might try it once they get 4G and VVM working natively.

I thought I saw in the other thread where you had to download an app to stop the text messages and blacklist a certain number. I just want it to work like normal.

Other than that I really am interested in trying CM6.

What happens is you get a text message from #9016 saying a VM was delivered. The app I mentioned stops you from getting that text. The VVM still displays and plays as it did before. If you don't mind a text each time you get a VM, you're good to go. If not, do what I mentioned. CM is very nice...fact!
 
I noticed nobody mentioned the rom manager gives you the option for Kernel #6 battery, and #4 for speed. Is the #6 they provide as an option not legit and thats why everyones looking for #6 standalone?

As for CM6. I really keep finding myself switching because of missed calls, (pppl leaving messages yet phone never rang in good service area), and missed texts. Was wondering if handcent doesnt mix well. Tried the MIUI last night too. Had some pretty cool options but seemed like CM6 still...Glad to see some are having no issues tho.
