Accessories Ballistic Case

Actually, judging by the order of things... the Evo is going to be either $10-$20 more than the iPhone variant of the case. Don't know why, but the iPhone accessories are always cheaper. Guess that's one benefit they reap for paying 150% more for their devices. =P
 
Just got off the phone with Ballistic and they said the release date will be mid-November, which is the same as the Otterbox Defender. So it will be a choice of which you like better and not which is released first. They confirmed that the price will be $49.99. Also, if you fill out the email form on their website to be notified, the "*color" field is for you to put in what color you would want on the Evo Ballistic case. Ballistic said that which ever color gets the most votes will be the next color that they release for the Evo Ballistic case, pretty cool I thought...

Yes,as I had already posted that above and they gave me the same date,,,,,took 5months after the evos launch date but it looks like it def might just have been worth the wait..

i'll definitely be watching for this to come out.. i go muddin and campin an awful lot... it'll either be this or the otterbox defender series!
 
I don't like using the stock buttons with a case that has an integrated screen protector. in fact, I don't like integrated screen protectors at all...and the only justification I have seen for them is to help seal the phone better. If you are leaving portions of the phone exposed (like the buttons) then why have an integrated screen.

I was going to get the Otterbox Defender myself until I discovered that the screen protector is integrated into the case.

I am a happy Seidio Rugged case user...and once they make a case to fit their 3500 mAh battery door (due out this year), I'll probably switch to that case.

You mean to tell me that you have never had a need for a tougher case? Based on your profile and sig it appears that you are into turning wrenches. As a technician myself I see a big need for a tough case. Maybe I'm just a bit rougher on my phone. I have never had this expensive of a phone and because of that I have not cared for my other phones all that well. I've found myself dropping phones from my lap onto the ground and running over them accidentally, rolling over them while I was on my creeper a couple times raping the screen, losing the girlfriend's phone riding wheelies on the 4 wheeler, etc. I guess maybe I just need to slow down. . . . . . .

I have questions before I'd order one:

1) Can the screen protector be replaced?
2) How easy is it to take off (I don't want to break my fingers every time I need to pull a battery).
3) Can it support a 3500mah battery (diff shape)?
4) Absorbs shock vs not breaking?
5) Price

I have a 3.5 year old who LOVES some android games. So yes as long as I plan on keeping my phone, I must have a good case.
 
They just updated the pics on the website.. From the looks this case puts otterbox to shame it also has covers over the lenses which i'm pretty sure the otterbox does not. I didn't like the ballistic case at first but these new pics and vids really have me sold and it has its own kick stand now this case looks like a winner and a tank!

Why is it taking them so long to release it? Is anybody here still waiting? How much should you think we pay for this?
 
Just FYI - I got an email response yesterday from Ballistic. They stated that as of yesterday, the Ballistic HC for the Evo should be in production in 7 to 10 days.

Here is the email I got for reference:

Thank you for your interest in the Ballistic HC HTC Evo case. We have completed tooling and are in the process of Quality control testing. We anticipate to be in production within 7-10 days and take pre-orders within that timeframe(if not sooner). Thanks for your patience. I would recommend that you fill out the form on the product page of our webstore and we will notify you once inventory is available for purchase. We will be contacting customers in the order we receive their inquires.
The case will be available in gray/black right away and then soon after we will be releasing it in black/black and then red/black.
The Ballistic HC offers the most advanced protection for the Evo so this may be the perfect match for you! Upon receipt of your Ballistic HC please feel free to send us your thoughts on the product.

At least having the defender makes the wait a bit easier. I wanted either the grey or red so it's good to know at least the grey will be out first.
 
My God, throw the idea of stuffing that in your pocket out the window. Make sure the idea is in the case, first though, so you can save it for later.

Seriously though, that made the Trident case look like those cheap slide on candy shell cases. Almost excessively thick. I think you will have a literal example of a fancy brick with that thing, no root required!

Good catch on that 3500mah battery issue. Are anyone of the other manufacturers addressing this issue?

What issues do you have? I am really torn right now between the Defender and the Ballistic...
I wish I had them both side by side and can put them both on my Evo one after the other to really see which one I prefer. If I do go Ballistic, I dont know if I'll get the red/black or all black....so I have a tough decision either way :rolleyes:

I really like my defender but I like how the ballistic has the speakers enclosed so that's why I'm getting one as well. Since my defender is all black I'm getting the ballistic in grey/black since it will be the only color variation out at the launch.
