Root Basix & Electric Sheep timer sound problem

Pidasso

Newbie
I have Basix and Electric Sheep installed and everything works great, I just noticed the "Timer" in the clock program does not have a sound when it alerts. I couldn't find anything in the program settings or sound settings to choose a sound for this and I remember reading somewhere some original sounds can get corrupted and need to be fixed but I can't seem to find that now.

the alarm clock in the same program works just fine, it also allows me to choose a ringer for it... only the timer is silent. I do have ES File Explorer installed but I don't remember what folder or what to do to fix a problem like this

anyone know how I can fix this?

thanks in advance for your help

That is a known bug in Basix. Unfortunately, a fix was never mentioned nor found by anyone (that I know of).
A workaround would be to use a different timer app from the Play Store.

Sorry I have not better news for you... :(

I thought removing the .nomedia file in the system media directory did the trick?

I've done that.
Still silent...
That trick restores ringtones, but not the timer alarm sound...

Strange...I've never had to do the nomedia thing for my clock or ringtones. Everything works fine

Basix sucks. Electric sheep is cool for voodoo control plus. Other than that I think its a poor exuse for a custom rom. I felt like we were just thrown a bone with little scraps on it. I can't even get a poweron sound.

multiple users have gotten the poweron sound to work. it had to do with the nomedia fix

thanks for the answers, I installed a free app called "Kitchen Timer" and it solved my timer sound issues. Really don't use it too often but it does come in handy grilling outside
