Root Battery Calibration Issue

So I've run Battery Calibration several times over the past week and a half and it does not appear to be working properly, and I'm starting to think my battery problems may not be associated with my Tiamat 3.3.7 but with the battery not being calibrated properly.

For example, when I put my phone onto the charge it always shows me the green "full charge" LED when my battery indicator shows only 90-93% charge. Then, sometimes it discharges very quickly, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes I'll turn my phone off with it showing 20% charge, turn it back on and it shows 60% charge (and lasts a good amount of time).

I've run Battery Calibration exactly as its suggested: (leave charged at least 10 minutes beyond full charge, run calibration, unplug and leave unplugged until it basically dies).

Thoughts?

The Battery calibration app just wipes your Battery stats. You can this manually from recovery as well.

So what do you suggest? Wiping manually while it's plugged in? Will that resolve this or is there some other issue I must resolve?

Well your phone doesnt charge in recovery.

I owuld suggest giving it a try and seeing if manually wiping stats helps.

what battery calibration are you running?

After following your above steps it then needs to charge uninteruped to 100%. This as always worked for me with noticable improvement. How old is the battery?

On AOSP roms, the green light will come on at 90%. So that doesn't mean your battery is full, it just means it's 90%. Obviously this functions differently on sense ROMS where the LED light doesn't come on until the 100% mark is hit. I think battery calibration is kind of overrated. Just run your phone down to like 10% or less, and then try to give it a full charge (preferably overnight) to 100%. I've noticed that if you charge a phone and then reboot, it kind of messes with the battery stats. Like if I'm 85% charged and I reboot, it will then show that the phone is 100% charged. So that kind of stuff just happens.

I thought i read that they DO charge in recovery....

You cannot charge through recovery.

It seems the new amon ra style recovery does indeed allow the phone to charge. I knew I had read it somewhere. then the next guy says it always had.

"Great recovery! Definitely staying with this one.
A couple cool things I wanted to share from my experience using this recovery.
a) When in recovery and usb is connected from computer to phone, it seems to transfer files a lot faster than the Amon Ra 2.3 did for me.
b) While I was transfering files and such I looked at my battery % and it was at 61%. I was setting up a new sdcard so I was in recovery for a while. About 20 min later the battery was at 73% percent. A little while passed, I looked at it again and the battery was at 80%.

From what I always undrstood, our phone isn't supposed to be able to charge while in recovery. Is this a new feature or am I wrong and its been able to charge thru recovery this whole time?
