Help Battery calibration restart?

Battery recalibration is a topic with lots of discussion and "evidence"...

Google's Android team says that you need to just leave your phone do its thing. It will take time, but it will automatically calibrate itself.

I think too much attention is spent on what the battery meter says rather than just using the phone until it dies to determine actual usable battery capacity.

Personally, about once a month, I charge my phone all night, then when I take it off the charger, I don't put it back on until it dies (keep ignoring all the low battery warnings). I'm usually surprised by how long it says 4 or 5 percent, but keep chugging along for another 6 hours or more.

i wouldnt mind just letting it do its thing...
but im job hunting so i cant let my battery just die in 3 hours of its first charge.
i almost misssed a call in earlier.
just lucky i had a family member with a phone. xP
my phone was basically dead.

If you're battery is dying 3 hours after taking it off the charger and you aren't using it that much , I would get another battery .

If I'm on my phone steady using internet and calling , I usually get at least 4-5 hours .

Have you gone in to the system to see what is running ? I use Titanium to freeze apps running in the background . It seems to help . Facebook , Amazon and Phandroid are a few that run in the background that can be frozen with no ill effects .

I already switched out phandroid for tapatalk.
And I just installed fB.
So that wasn't it.
I also set apparently never to sync or refresh unless I push the button.
PS.
About calibrating the battery.
Does it affect the calibration if I force juice the battery? (Turn all syncs and radio options on)
Or is it better to let it naturally disscharge?

I use an app called Battery Left sometimes to get a handle on my battery use.

It does not do any optimization, but it watches how you use your phone and calibrates the battery too.

Once a battery is calibrated it is great if you depend on your battery for work and do not have a charger.

It gives uncannily exact estimates on how much time is left on your battery. This can be expressed as an absolute Time of Day and/or Hours and Minutes. Very Handy and a stress reliever.

You have to spend the time to properly calibrate your battery while it charges/discharges so that it can build it's database and make realistic estimates.

As your use habits change or vary it adjusts the estimate. I used it for work with ShabbyMod and it was amazingly accurate.

Cool Home screen widgets included, and optional notification screen info. Obviously, this kind of stuff adds to its own juice usage though so I don't use them.

I just check the app when battery is getting low to see when to swap based on what I am doing or plan to do.

Oh, the single battery version is free but the cheap paid version handles multiple batteries.

YMMV

Not using a cheap DC charger helps. I switched to a better car charger and got less heat from the unit while charging.
