Root Battery Drain -- Display -- Cyanogen

Hey all, I just installed cyanogen and my display is draining the majority of my battery. Now I see two possibilities: Either a) kernel issues or b) old bat monitor did not accurately display how much bat the display uses (which could be massive). And yes display settings are same.

Any ideas?

1.wipe dalvik cache and cache
2.check spare parts and see if there is any partial wake issues
3.try a different kernels
