Root Battery drain on airplane mode

At work I basically have no signal so I put it on airplane mode but I still experience a good amount of drain. I have no idea what to do short of turning my phone off which I don't want to do. Is there another mode that can save battery? Here is my battery use with 16 minutes of display time all from using the GPS on the way.

Disable 3G/Wifi, Auto Sync, and GPS. Disable sound and don't use vibrate (it eats the battery). This is what I do (except the volume bits) with mine because I sit at my PC all day, so I don't need all of that enabled. I save a ton of battery this way (I can get up to 4 days on a full charge).

If you're running BACKside, you might be able to save all that as a Profile, too.

Edit: Just took this screenie for ya...

There is an app I have been using for the auto sync that works great in saving the battery but still allowing the phone to sync to my google account. It is called "Periodic Auto Sync". I have it set to every 4 hours for 1 min. Everything of mine stays sync'd. No extra battery drain that I can see.

If I have it on airplane mode tho shouldn't it turn everything off? I don't understand why I get drain when I'm not doing anything and all connections are off?

If you want airplane mode, you're better off turning off the phone.

I'm really not sure why it's like that, but I noticed it some time back. I use to have the Airplane mode set on the Notification dropdown. I ended up removing it and just putting Wifi, Sound, Brightness, Mobiledata, Sync and GPS on there. Easier to tap those quickly when I wanna turn something on/off. It seems like it works much better than the Airplane mode.

Sound like an app that's trying to "phone home" or one that needs to be moved back to the system from the sd card.
Download OS Monitor. Look and see if an app is trying to connect (call home) to much. Go to settings/applications/running apps. Turn them all off and then monitor the ones that come right back on with OS monitor. If you see an app is trying to "phone home" to much and it's on the SD card, move it to the system. If an app is already on the system, delete it and find another one that does nearly the same thing.

If the phone is in airplane mode, and you weren't using it, it looks a runaway app causing a wake lock. This prevents the system from going into deep sleep mode, and keeps CPU running. Look for an app called Betterbattery Stats on xda. It will let you know if an app is keeping your awake.

I've seen BetterBattery Stats on the market, but it was $3.00... would it be illegal to use the apk from XDA? D:

If the Developer of the app offers it for free, there is no problem. If someone else offer's the dev's app for free, it's piracy and usually will get the member who posted it to be IP banned.
