Help Battery Drains By Itself without use Overnight???

armoredsaint

This has happened about 2-3 times now since the phone was released. T

The phone is fully charged before I go to bed and in the morning it's dead since the phone turned off by itself.

Also it might explain why during the day, even without use for 2-3 hours it drains for no reason down to ~25%?

So weird, anyone else have this problem? I don't have the GPS on.

get an app called "spare parts"

then click battery history

check what are at the top of the lists under "partial wake" and "other usage"

That will pinpoint what drained the battery down

Could be electromagnetic interference. Some places drain batteries dry real quick, no matter what type. I had that happen with my digital camera. Usually, it lasts a few hours, but in some areas, it drains in under one.

Until you find the problem you could power off the phone when you go to bed and cut it on when you wake up.

I heard about that some months ago on the Eris forum.(I think) Try doing a search in the entire Android Phones forum to see if anything pops up.

thanks again for the secret code :D

so do you think it's the calender that's killing my battery? i do use outlook and it gets my corporate email also.

what's a factor reset? can i just pull the battery or turn it on/off?

No, Settings -> Privacy -> Factory data reset. You'll be back to square one and have to reactivate, reinstall all apps. It's a big pain in the butt, but it resolved one of my issues for some stupid reason.

I'm not sure if it's the calendar on the Exchange sync or not. I heard that Google sync might be a problem but I don't have that problem. I also just read that a full wipe fixed it for someone but that is such a pain. If it's really a problem I would give it a shot and set up everything again. Also you can take a look through this thread.

Try this, its saved me a boat load of battery at idle.

From homescreen, menu/settings/wireless & networks/mobile networks and uncheck 'enable always-on mobile data'.

Definitely try this.

My boyfriend has the same problem, but with his Motorola Droid. He even will plug it in at night, or put it on the holster, and by morning within 5 minutes it's completely dead. We can't figure it out either. Verizon said it's probably a defective holster... but that doesn't seem right to me either.

I would switch it out with warranty, but then the waiting begins...
