After turning everything off with ATK, This is what my battery is using...
Android System - 60%
Display - 18%
Cell Standby - 17%
Phone idle - 5%
What is causing the android system to be so high?
What is causing the android system to be so high?

Hello everyone,
Just wanted to share my experiences: I just got an external charger and it is great -- the batteries get COMPLETELY charged as a result (I have both stock 1300 mAh and extended seidio 1750 mAh).
It's a shame that the Incredible has a problem with charging and to full 100% while the battery is in the phone itself![]()
Then, it's hard to get the cover off to put the battery in! If the battery door were easy to get on and off, I'd consider this a non-issue, but as it stands you have to either:
A) Do charging trick by turning off phone, charging, then unplug replug about 4-5 times so green light stays on
or
B) Charge with Desktop/Wall charger unit and then re-install battery every day.
That kind of sucks if you ask me ...
Guess we'll have to live with it for now,
-Elo
I have meebo and it has not caused any problems allthough i don't use it or log in that much. I got the same poor battery results with no software installed so my issue is the battery not fully charging issue.
Do you stay logged in all the time? I was curios how that woul daffect battery life

I have an universal charger that I use to charge my batteries. I got two identical batteries that I got ebay and I charged one battery in the phone until the green light came on and didn't unplug it and replug it again and I charged one battery in the universal charger. After they were fully charged as indicated by the phone and the universal charger I tested them both with my Multimeter. My Multimeter is not a digital one, it's the kind with a needle. The battery that I charged with my universal charger showed a 4 volt charge and the one charged by the phone was at about 3.75 volt charge. The guage on my multimeter is harder to read than a digital one would be but the battery charged buy the phone was definitely less.
Right.
All new rechargables need to go thru a conditioning/break-in process as they need a few charging cycles to reach their potential.
I am confused how to condition the battery.
I have been told NOT To let it run out and then I have been told to let it get into red before turning it off and turning it back on.
What is the proper way to condition the battery? Should I let it die before plugging it back in? I got 14 Hours awake time when it was at the low green and still running.
I've been doing this for a few days now and I have noticed that late in the "2nd charge" I can hear a high pitch noise and it stops when I unplug. Has anyone noticed this? I don't think it's my outlet, but I wonder if it may be the charger itself or the phone. It's got me a bit nervous. Can anyone confirm?
Have you tried just charging overnight with the phone off? Maybe the phone just gets a deeper charge off than it gets on.
Current phone batteries do not need to be "deep charged" or run dry like their predecessors did (in the 80's?), but many of us still do out of habit (or superstition. )
They do get better after a few cycles, though, and the calibration on the phone will improve also. That is the part often over looked (and why after major OS/firmware upgrades the boards are flooded with "my battery sucks with this revision" posts that are full of baloney.)
It is almost impossible to judge how many cycles it takes, or if any particular "conditioning" system is more helpful than others because of the wide variances in phone usage during the process.
My advise? If it makes you feel like to are contributing to the betterment of your battery's quality of life, then fully charge it and run it down to zero for a couple of days. If that is not convenient (or possible) you are not doing any long term damage to the battery or phone.
BATTERY ISSUE SOLVED! (for me at least) Micro SD CARD!
situation: battery life decreased significantly. previously, I was able to make it at least a day with moderate usage, (manual check email throughout the day, pandora radio for at least 4hrs, some internet mixed in). wi-fi used while at work. after card was installed, battery only lasted a couple of hours.
solution: tried everything. checked settings to make sure auto-sync stuff was turned off. tried wiping the phone to start over. thought it might have been odd side effect of OTA. (i put the card in right around that time.)
couldn't figure out why my wifes Inc still got good battery life and mine sucked. finally realized that i had a micro sd card in and she did not.
i removed the card earlier this evening and the battery meter has barely moved in 3 hrs.
AND THE PHONE GOES TO SLEEP FINALLY!!!
hope this is the solution for others as well.
. I added my accounts in one at a time and the issue seems to be resolved. Now, I'm doing the arduous task of adding my apps in one at a time. Here's hoping it continues to sleep as it should. I'm still convinced there is an underlying bug, but the tech that I talked to was not very interested in actually solving any underlying problem and was actually kind of a douche-bag.Called HTC last night. We tried a number of things regarding my calendar issue causing the phone not to sleep, but ultimately ended up doing a factory reset.
