Battery is shocking for this spec of phone...

Had the phone for five days now. Surfed the net, called a few times, took a few photos.....battery conked out after 6 hours...anyone used an extended battery on this thing?

Great phone......but seriously sh!t battery....hope I didn't offend any die-hard fanboys on here....

i can`t understand how your battery can drain so fast, i`ve been using it as much as yourself and more and i`m getting between 18 - 24 hours out of it... if you read some of the posts regarding battery life, some like myself have no problems whilst others seem to suffer, it must be down to how the phone is set up. (although i havn`t changed much on mine, screen to 50%, wifi off while not needed and same with bluetooth..)

Honestly i see allot of bitching about battery life so far mine has actually done rather well, i don't understand why some users have such a large problem and others don't.

But their are MANY threads about the battery life on here please stop making new ones people we know some of you are having a bad time but for tips tricks etc look around the forum their is plenty to choose from on this one very subject.

Take a look at a program call Juice Defender. This will shut down any un-needed services and help with the battery life....

Do a search for Battery within this forum. There are lots of ideas on how to save battery life. In some cases it has led to people getting 2-3 days of battery after shutting down apps and adjusting a few basic settings

The overall problem is that with the exception of the DroidX, the smartphone mfg seem to be content with the current (awful) battery life. Any power savings is immediately eaten up by faster processors and bigger brighter screens. There really hasn't been any meaningful improvement in battery life in the 6 years I've been using smartphones (nor the pda's that preceded them). The consequence is that forums like this are littered with battery life threads, the market is filled with sometimes dubious battery saver apps and users are forced to buy additional (I have 3) or extended batteries and chargers. I for one would welcome a phone that instead of offering the next 2ghz unobtanium processor and super duper amoledtftbfd screen instead had a battery that would last a day of heavy use without additional or pregnant guppy like extended batteries.

This is it right here...the issue is the people who complain when 'the phone doesn't sit flat in my shirt pocket' and people wanting a phone to do everything but consume NO power. You can't have it both ways, smaller/thinner battery = lower battery life

Disagree.

I've had the phone coming up atleast a good month and a bit and I can safely say depending on what you are doing, you can get up to around 2 days use out of it.

It depends what the user does. As I've said in another post, you can pull faces and it, point fingers at a poor battery, but end of the day, its how you use the battery.

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE BATTERY HAS IMPROVED SIGNIFICANTLY...

I fully discharge the phone a few times....now i am getting at least a days use out of it...

Thanks
