Root battery life help

I am running a rooted stock ROM with 2.6.32.27-netarchy-toastmod-4.3.1-cfs-havs-nocbc with SetCPU.

SetCPU settings:
988 max
245 min
Scaling: powersave
Set on Boot

Profiles:
Screen off
245 max
245 min
Scaling: powersave
Priority: 50

After a full charge through the night my battery estimate from BMW was over 24 hours. My battery temp is averaging 85 degrees.

You should give this a try.

i'm just curious, but could i run the kernel you mentioned above, with the ROM i have currently flashed??

You *technically* can because they are universal kernels BUT (and this is a BIG but) it's been known to cause massive screen tearing on AOSP ROM's (which is what you're running) and are best w/ Sense based ROM's.

Great kernels to try w/ the ROM you're running are SavagedZen CFS w/ HAVS and Tiamat.

Just flash a stock ROM. Just a side note...I have been unplugged since 8AM this morning and BMW says I have an estimate of one days battery life remaining.

i'm just curious, and i'm not sure if this is breaking some sort of rule, but i asked a question about installing a ROM in a different thread, and was directed towards the rooting for dummies post, which ive read and re-read and i'm still not positive i know the answer to my question...

but when you instal a zip file of a ROM you want - is there a specific folder you should put it in? I zipped one, put it in my SD card and hit instal from zip, clicked the ROM zip and it said that the installation failed.

I'm just curious if I'm missing something insanely stupid lol

When you place the zip onto your SD card, you don't put it into any folders. You then reboot to recovery, do a full wipe, choose "flash zip from SD card", and it should do it's thing.

What exactly does the error message say?

EDIT: Don't unzip the ROM either.

I would suggest you learn a different way of downloading and installing roms rather then using rom manager.

I think you should start with switching from clockworkmod recovery to using RA. you can do this inside of rom manager, scroll to the bottom and you will see flash alternate recovery and older version or all versions of clockwork. flash alternate recovery is probably greyed out. so first click on the older/all versions of clockwork and let it download and install. exit rom manager and go back in (may not need to do this step i forget) then go back down and click on flash alternate recovery which will be RA.

whether you decide to stay with clockwork or move to RA I would stop downloading and flashing roms through rom manager - its known to be buggy.

to get to recovery without rom manager - power phone off and then on while holding volume down - then select recovery. or if you have the 4 in 1 boot mod - select reboot - recovery.

then you can use your mac, or pc doesn't matter, and straight download them to your computer then transfer to your phone via usb - or navigate to the rom download page via your phone browser and download straight to your phone - the later will get stored in a download folder, you can leave roms there if you want and install them through recovery even if its in a folder.

before a new rom install perform a full wipe by doing the following

data
cache
dalvik cache
system
boot

those are the important ones but you can also select the following

SD card android.secure
factory reset (I don't do this as it wipes my sd extension for dark tremor apps 2 SD, if you don't know what this is you dont have it and can safely perform this function)

I would also recomend system panel for watching your battery usage, though you will need the paid version to do so.

good luck!

EDIT: I should add that after a rom install and your going to flash a kernel or theme only wipe cache and dalvik cache.
