Help Battery Life (or Death)

rlister39

Newbie
OK so I have read and followed almost every threat religiously about how to extend the battery life on my HTC Evo.

I still get the drop from 100% to 90% within minutes of taking it off the wall charger (stock charger).

SOME days it will work for hours and never drop past 85% and some days it will drop to 40% by the end of three hours.

I have ordered the Gorilla Battery 3500 and hopefully this will help, but it will reduce my Premium case to worthless.

Any ideas what the heck is going on with this battery issue and why it hasn't been resolved ?

well...is your usage honestly identical each of those days?

some things will cause more drain than others...battery temp will cause the drainage to fluctuate...

there really are too many variables to answer this question when it pops up.

are you using anything to track your battery usage like juice plotter or system panel?

Also, as this has been covered many times, the immediate drop is not due to an issue that has yet to be resolved, but is a "feature" that a lot of people just don't like. I don't blame you for being frustrated with it, but the best answers are what you have already read. charge, unplug, charge, or follow festo's advice.

And about the different drainage different days.... that probably is due to the variables that Mr. Ed is referring to. Usage, reception, etc. On the days where it drains quickly, have you noticed if by chance your phone is not sleeping?

Sorry I've got nothing better to advise.

I used to get the 10% drop but my Evo seems to be doing better with that now. I usually go from 100% to 90% after about an hour and a half now of moderate usage.

Are you in a 4G area?
One thing i noticed over the past few weeks is, once i am connected to 4G the phone seems to work hard, if i turn OFF 4G and it re-connects to 3G its really sluggish. I have System Panel running and looks like my processor ussage is thru the roof.
I have to turn airplaine mode ON or turn off the phone to fix this problem.

I've noticed this too when I'm toggling 4G on and back off, I would normally have to reboot my Evo to fix it, thanks for the tip though. Hope this is fixed in an update in the future

I use the same features everyday. Gmail and texting. I do not use the phone as way of communicating by voice. I am deaf. So anything related to sound is turned off.

I am hoping the Gorilla Battery 3500 amp will help improve things.

Thank you for confirming its happeng to another device. I was starting to think it was just mince sine i have not seen anybody else mention this.

It simply amazes me .. I am now at 47+ hours and batter life is at 19% and has not been on the charger for almost 2 days.

What gives ??
