I always find that poor signal drains my battery alarmingly fast - can lose 50% in an hour. Check that "Cell Standby" isn't what's using the greatest %age of your battery. If it is, stop sitting where you normally sit. You might even need to move your desk outside. Or switch jobs![]()
Picked up a tip on XDA Devs.
Set your radio to GSM Auto (PRL), should see an increase as it relies on a list from the carrier to know when you're in a 3G area rather than constantly scanning for it.
No it doesn't.yeah everytime the phone is switched back on you need to reset it
I'm guessing this won't work with Belgian carriers? Or is this PRL thing a universal standard employed by all telco's?Picked up a tip on XDA Devs.

Do you want to know how severe the power consumption is on a Nexus One? I can drain the battery while it is plugged in, if I surf the web or talk on the phone.
This is brutal!!! The battery goes dead even when it is plugged in, if you use the phone.
Is this with Froyo or not?
Yes, running 2.2.
Was the battery good with 2.1 and then became horrible with 2.2 or has it always been horrible?Yes, running 2.2.
How did you put the battery into Airplane mode??On another note, I tried putting my battery into Airplane mode last night to see how it'd affect the battery. In 6 hours, it went down 20%.
ProbablyI have a sick feeling that an app is constantly running in the background and won't let the phone 'sleep'.
I would say batteries come 'conditioned' already and that those 'you have to fully charge and discharge the first couple of times' things are old-fashioned beliefs inherited from the early lithium-battery technology days.Oh...and I think part of the blame for my horrid battery life is due to the fact that I've started using my (new) spare battery. I'm thinking that it hasn't been 'conditioned' that and bad app(s) might be the cause of my battery issues.

Good tip... I set it to GSM Auto and a week later saw that it had defaulted back to WCDMA Auto. Does this need to be reset everytime we pull the battery? So I'm not sure how much this helps with the saving the battery life. I know that after I installed Advanced Task Killer, battery life has improved tremendously. Thanks.
Has anyone tried using it as just a phone (no wifi, no 3g, no music- just calls and texts) to see how long it lasts?
