Help Battery Life

I had a similar situation after I installed the JB leak. I was getting only 7.5 hours with doing nothing.. Literally. I had the screen on for 2 minutes after a charge and lost 12%. No rogue apps, nothing keeping the phone awake.

A re flash of JB fixed it.... Now I am at 15 hours average with around 2+ hours of on screen time and constant 4G. Hope this helps.

i use the app "WIFI@Home" to automatically toggle WIFI on when at home and off when away -

WiFi@Home

it uses cell towers for location awareness and not GPS so it saves battery. it does only save one "Home" location but IMO it's still the best. there are some others like Llama and Y5. these all can be useful to automate your WIFI settings. perhaps you could set the "Home" location as your workplace since it has WIFI.

good luck!
Hmm. Apparently my Juice Defender is already doing this

My stock 1750 mAh battery life has gotten much worse on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone since the OS update to the Android 4.1.1 version. The battery barely lasts 18 hours (making almost no calls, WiFi & GPS/NAV off, screen brightness 30%). My friend is experiencing the same thing with his G-Nex phone. Google, what's going on?

Are you using Google+, Google Now at default setting?
I turned off sync on G+ and also location report/history on google now. I noticed that makes big difference on battery drain rate and it's even better than ICS days with those settings turned off.

Thanks for your update. I never established a Google + account as far as I know. I went into the Apps screen, but did not see an option to change settings, just an option to force quit. The Google + app did indicate a line "Launch By Default" but there is no way that I saw to disable launch by default. Thanks.

You need to address google now settings or it will be running constantly. Turn off features you don't want/need.

That's not where you can control sync settings of google apps. Go into your google account in the account section of main android setting menu. All the google sync, location settings are there.

I run JB 4.1.2 and it using around 1%-2% of battery at night time 23:00 - 8:00, and 30-40% during the daytime with moderate use: 1h music, 20min calls, 1 hour of web browsing...

What I've done:
1. went to settings - "Apps", section "All" and disabled applications I never use (open app, click Force stop, Disable):
Currents, Email, Exchange services, Gmail, Google+, Maps, News & weather, Tags, Talk, TalkBack.
2. installed Long Battery Life app. This app turns wifi and data connection off when screen is off. Simple... You can use another similar app that do the same (e.g. Juice Defender, etc..)
That's it.
