Root Battery life

Im rooted. Underclocked to around 1024 whatever it is. Removed and froze bloatware. Running 2x battery free. Wifi connected when screen is on (playing with phone) got romtoolbox tb nothing crazy....my battery seems to deplete fast. Probably get 5 hours if im lucky. Solutions? Advice?

close apps more often so they dont consume your battery more and freeze apps/bloatware a lot of these apps run in the background and take up much battery

How good is your signal? The worse your signal, faster your battery life goes down the drain.

I'm running !.5, wirefly, and using juice defender.
i get a day and a half.

no root , bloated and my junk loaded

Me and this phone are frends already.
Yes we have...upgraded

Don't know what to tell ya buddy. I'm unrooted, removed some bloatware, and I easily get more than 16 hours out of this phone.

What are you doing on your phone?

My suggestions,

Get another battery, go completely back to stock, or take the phone back and get another one.

Think i am going to go.back to stock and replace the phone. I am still within the 1st week. I just think i got a bunk battery......sucks! Difficulty wise how hard is unrooting compared to rooting?
Right now i am at 58% and it says 1h42m before it dies

If it's just the battery you can just purchase a replacement battery. This phone does just fine with everything stock and you can remove a lot of the bloatware without root.

I personally don't plan on rooting this phone as the only reason I did it for the connect was because you pretty much had to for the phone to function properly. That's just me though, as I understand those who want more control over their device.

Try going back to stock first, if that doesn't work switch out the battery. if you're still having problems, take the phone back.

Things like screen brightness and games make a huge difference in battery life. Games and anything using graphic acceleration...

Well after rooting last night and underclocking to between 400-700mhz throughout the day and checking my stocks on wifi every 5 minutes I'm pretty impressed with the battery life. This thing is still quicker at 400mhz than my admire at 800 lol:D

Left it rooted but restored all original apps thru rom toolbox. Than erased it. Brought it back to the store and was outta there is 2 min with a new phone! The 40% that was on this battery has only dropped 1% in 3 hrs with a decent amount of use. Think my last one had a bad battery. Re-rooting later tonight. Nooow im excited!

Did you just tell them the battery wasn't holding a charge? I bought 2 and my battery last all day with fairly heavy usage but my gf's is dying rapidly just idling. Mine is rooted w everything gone hers has as much as can be disabled or uninstalled non rooted.

Anyone know what I need to do to get my android system consumption down....seems kinda high at 22%? I've deleted some bloatware already

listen, its your signal strength im telling you. Try charging your phone putting it into airplane mode and play some games for a while or whatever. If it does not die fast, your phone is fine. I go into bad signal areas often and my battery drains within hours. When Im at home it works well and easily lasts for a day with excessive use.

I have no signal all day everyday and my battery doesn't die fast lol. Always no bars and no signal.

no signal and 1-2 bars are 2 different things. Its known for android to die faster when signal is bad. When i'm in basement whole day long, phone works, i can call, but battery is dead within 8 hours. When I'm home whole day it's over 50% after a day use.
there is an app on the market called autopilot, its designed to save battery in these situations.

This has been the case with all cell phones since day one, it's not unique to Android. The way the technology works is that the phone will vary it's transmitter output power based on the incoming signal strength of the cell it's connected to. So if the cell signal is strong the phone will only transmit with a few milliwatts, but if it's weak it will increase the power in steps up to its max output which is about half a watt. This makes a huge difference in how long the battery lasts.
When there is no signal, it depends on how the phone and OS manages the radio. If the phone constantly searches for a signal, sending out a "here I am" data pulse, it will run the battery down faster until it acquires a cell. If it just waits for a signal to show up before it transmits then it may not impact the battery as much.

well...so far i'm going on 10 hours with the battery unplugged..half of that has been little to no use..the last 3 hours i have been messing around with it....i'll tell you one thing...restarting it will drain a lot of battery...much more than most other things..

this is with Wifi on though...i have not had it long enough to test it without wifi...but i'll let you know within a week what my results are
