Battery life!

I thought they would go bigger than 2800 mAh, but I guess there is only so much room. We sure have come along way from the days of the 1800 mAh that the Gnex had ;)

As always with these claims, the proof is in the pudding, so we will see how much improvement in battery life there is. That said, I am very very happy if there is actually a 20% improvement in battery life. I would be thrilled.

One thing for sure, the power saver mode, changing colors to gray scale, will save a lot of battery. I would like that feature on my S4.

The battery life talk sounds like opportunistic marketing speak to me. They did the same thing with the Note 2014 and it is wrong. Ditto for the S4.

The Gameboy 1989 power saving mode seems cool if in a pinch for call time.

We won't know until the reviews come out. It does seem different this time, but time will tell. We'll know soon enough I guess.

Some how these "battery savings programs" are giving me flashbacks to Internet Dial up days when some providers would say "our service downloads pages 10x faster than normal 9600" - then you find out they convert everthing to no-pictures, plain text format to get there...

So lets see... No color. Throttle the GPU. Throttle the CPU. Someone remind me why I would want to pay top dollar for the latest-and-greatest-highest-spec phone, and then have to cripple it to make it thru the day on one battery?

Currently with a GSIII. Battery sux. Wish I had the water resistant built.

All the talk about batteries is really a moot point, seeing that you can just carry a spare and pop that one in. But, I believe you can make it thru a 16 hrs day, easily with the S5 if you set up the power saving features correctly. Even I can get 16 hrs out of my S4 with moderate usage.

I really wish phone makers would not focus on special features like heart rate monitor or finger scanner and focus their efforts on battery life. It's the one nagging issue with smart phones IMHO. Battery life is the feature that needs the most improvement across the board.

IMHO reception and battery life are the most important issues to cell PHONES.
the rest is just bells and whistles !!!!!

Extending battery life is awesome but samsung should take a minute to re-invent these pathetic chargers that are out...either the usb is super short in length or they short out electrically...still love my galaxy devices but the charges drive me dumb!!
