well pretty much, wake up with 100% get ready for school, by the time i get to my car which is like 10-15 mins later im down to 90% without even turning it on to look at the time, sometimes even lower like this morning it went down to like 85%.. any1 have the same issue? and can any1 explain why and how to fix.

kernel: HTC stock kernel 2.6.32.17 #15

From what I've seen from other threads, this isn't necessarily an issue with the ROM but this drop comes from the way HTC is protecting the battery. If the phone is plugged in over night, when the battery reaches 100% charge, the phone then starts pulling power from the battery. When the battery state reaches a certain level (could be around 90% charge), the code in the phone starts charging the battery again. That is the reason for the "sudden" 10% drop.

(I think I'm correct in saying this. Someone will correct me if I'm way off base. But this is from what I remember.)

Duh, I didnt even think of this. Because I just flashed myns 2.2 and ive been having some weird battery issues. But its been a month since I was last using a stock kernel. And it all made sense after I read your post, because my battery is doing the same thing that it did when I was stock. Which is drop to 90% within the first 15-20min after being unplugged, then a slower drop from 89%-80%.

I've been on 52% for the past 2-3 hours. I still need to test some kernels, my phone has been a little bitch when it comes to anything but stock kernels.

try any of the netarchy toastmod kernels. the one in my sig works really well. but you will have to try them out for yourself. it may not like your phone as well as mine. every kernel will react differently. also check out the sbc kernels. they apply a trickle charge so that you will not get that 10% drop right off the bat. here is a thread that has some good info http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/319636-sbc-no-sbc-kernel.html

also for me i do the bump charge method. i charge my phone overnight, unplug it in the morning, power off, plug it back in, unplug it again after light goes green, power it back on and finish the charge. by doing that i do not get that 10% drop and my battery life has been great.

Try Netarchy-Toastmod 4.3.4-cfs-havs-more sbc. That's the one I have with Myn's Warm RLS 5 along with Overclock Widget. I get, with moderate use, roughly 17+ hours before a charge.
