Root Battery Performance

So Yah. I looked at my phone and realized the battery was getting lower then I was used to and decided to take a look at why. I was pleasantly surprised by what I found.

Mike3D B1 (with a few personal fixes)
Stock Kernel
No overclocking.

Runs smooth as silk btw.

and also turning 3g off as well will really save some life.

but i agree that is pretty damn good for a stock kernel. are you running setcpu? any additional settings you use?

Actually to be clear I leave WiFi and 3g both on and only turn 4g on when I'm in the city. I had just got home from work when I took that screen.

So that is 2 work shifts and Idle as my alarm clock while I slept. I must have forgotten to plug in when I got home from work the previous night. In my work my phone is my life.

No SetCPU, No V6, no nothing. I've been working with Mik3D trying to fix up some of the bugs that Mik left behind.

WOW! i wish i had that kind of battery life on a stock kernel. i can only match that when i'm on an aosp rom with the tiamat sbc kernel.

How much uptime was there? Not to be negative but if you don't use your phone, then it should sleep pretty well. If I use a Sense ROM intensively, my display usage is usually much higher than what this shows, even with brightness turned way down. I used to think that time off the charger was the best measuring stick, now I only pay attention to awake time. Like with Lithid's Freedom kernel with MikG a couple weeks ago, I got 7+ hours of awake time which included about 2.5 hours of screen time.

In my job I pretty much live on my phone making phone calls and texting. I was not exactly intentionally testing this so I will make my best guess for you. 8-10 hours of sleepy time as my alarm clock and the rest would be tons of phone calls and text messages, with some web browsing in there. I'm sure I watched about half an episode of Psych on Netflix also. You are right about the screen eating the majority of battery. I probably made a total of 3-5 hours of talk time during those 2 days (yay unlimited cell-cell).

Edit: to be fair the reason I brought this up was because other roms ive used in the same situation bring me down to ~50% battery on one night of my usage. I typically run on Freedom .9 also.

Nice, I'm starting to wonder if it would be worth investing in a new battery. I've had the same battery since launch and it doesn't seem as good as it used to be. Maybe it's just me, but it's just over a year old. Not sure what the regular life of the Lithium Ion batteries is.
