Battery Saving Google Searches

It took me a few seconds to realize what was going on. The battey savings are from a black screen which doesn't require as much power to illuminate.

And we only stick on search pages for milliseconds... than we're back to regular battery usage when we leave the page.

But... every little bit does help...

doesnt actually save any power on LCDs because it doesnt impact the backlight. Its still gotta be on to make that tiny amount of white bright. Effectively a black screen with one dot is just a screen that is using activated LCDs to block out 99.999% of the light.

It only saves really on CRTs where its actually generating it pixel by pixel and on LEDs (although ever so slightly).

That said - don't take this next action of mine in any way personally, it was a service that you posted this so we could this suggested action out in the open.

Yes, it's possible the original idea was well-intended, but this is total snake oil.

If anyone disagrees with me for locking this thread, just drop me a PM.
