Help Battery Suddenly Draining at A Higher Rate

I have noticed that my battery has been dying a lot faster than it had been two days ago.

I had a great battery-life with JuiceDefender Ultimate (hovering around 2.00x).

My phone had been randomly shutting down (and it has been happening more lately).

Yesterday, it shutdown twice. Upon restarting, it dialed *22899
 
Can someone please help me with this?

I have also found that my Wi-Fi isn't reconnecting with my company's Wi-Fi upon my screen being turned back on. The Wi-Fi turns back on, but the phone tells me that the Wi-Fi is not in range. The Wi-Fi is far away, but I have never really experienced this issue before the ghost dialing.
 
You should post your battery screens for analysis. I also recommend better battery stats. Check my signature for more in depth battery info. Something is hanging in the background I'm guessing.

i've been trying to figure out how to revert my prl for a while now. i pulled batttery many times. so doubt it was that.
 
And now, the battery just drains and drains. I had it on last night for two hours (yeah, two hours) and it dropped 50%. That didn't happen to me three days ago. And this morning, in just 20 minutes, it dropped 10%. At that rate, the phone would be dead in just a couple of hours. Three days ago, I was running at like 2.00x and after like 7 hours, I would still be at like 60%.

In my JuiceDefender notification bar, the Wi-Fi has a red dot. The regular Wi-Fi icon doesnt have blue in it, but I am at home, connected to it.
 
judging from your screen shot, you have a ton of background processes running. When you see a lot of blue lines under "awake" at the same time your screen is not on, that's the clue. Ideally, you want most of the awake times to coincide with screen on time.

You need to identify what is causing your cpu to be active. BetterBatteryStats is the only program I know of that can identify this. There may be others but I don't know them.
 
I too feel my Nexus is draining quicker since my phone started dialing 22899 a few days ago. I haven't had any random reboots buy my System UI just failed as I tried opening Google Listen. I'll be anxious to see if the rumored update in April effects this.

This is so odd. I hadn't used my phone any differently than I had a few days ago, but the phone is just dying at a much more rapid pace. What's up with this?

Wow, you must have been doing something power intensive. Streaming netflix maybe?

Also, what is the brightness setting on your phone?
 
Nah, I was just surfing the web, and I played Angry Birds for a little bit. I believe my brightness was either set to Auto or it was at around 30%.

But, notice how I lost about 6% at the beginning, and my screen wasn't even on?

I wasn't doing anything like running Waze, or things like that. Just the browser, Facebook, and those types of things. The phone just dropped like a rock when the screen was on.

Should it drop from fully charged to basically dead in 6 hours, with the screen on for 3 hours?

I had it on for 3 hours as a test.

Previously, my JuiceDefender had me at about 2.00x (sometimes lower, sometimes higher), but it was around there. Now, it's at like 1.68x...?

I have found that, at time, even if the Wi-Fi is connected, it isn't always blue. Could that be a problem?

This all started happening (the battery declining), after the PRL Ghost Dialing Update. And, what's weird is, the number isn't 52686 anymore, now, it is 15109.
 
If I do a factory reset, how do I know that it won't just happen again?

And, I just restarted, and for the first time in days, it just dialed that *22899 number again...
 
Anyway, I just restarted my phone, and for the first time in two days it dialed the *22899 upon restarting. Music played, and a woman came on saying that I should continue to wait while my phone was being programmed. (I don't have a great connection where I am.) The process ran for just over a minute and then disconnected. The woman only spoke that one time.

Well, I have two comments.
1. The first 10% of battery loss on most phones drops at a pace that seems to make no sense. That was covered on a post here a while back.... I'll see if I can find it.

2. Regardless of point 1, your phone is still being kept awake by something in the background.

I think battery battery stats may be the best answer short of a factory reset. I think its $2 but can also be found free from the dev on xdaforums.

No. I can get 15+ hours with 3 hours screen on time.

Could be an issue. My wifi is always blue. Could be you are dropping wifi and reconnecting wakes up your phone.

Honestly, I would try turning off juice defender for a few hours and let the phone run normally. Maybe juice defender is cutting off some necessary background processes and the phone keeps trying to initiate them over and over.
 
An update - I went outside for a few more minutes this time. My phone must have called that *22899 number again and now, my PRL is showing as 52686.

I got the BetterBatteryStats application. How do I read it to understand what is maybe the culprit?
 
Anyway, I just got home, turned on my screen. I went into a menu to see something and the phone did this... (What is this?)

What is this?

Obviously, I will be taking this phone back to Best Buy tomorrow.

The phone will not turn back on. I did not pull the battery.
