Wow, I was expecting no one to get that ancient NES reference. I guess a lot of us are of the same generation 
Anyhow, in case you didn't get it, my point is that there are LOTS of supposed "magic" charging procedures out there. They all start when someone swears that it works for them. Then, via placebo effect, others start claiming it works. Then it becomes spread on the forums as fact. In reality, each variant you see is just as rediculous as the next, and equally plausible as my NES charging method.
Some of these variants are based on a battery conditioning technique meant to increase the longevity of your battery (not to improve one charge's duration). It applies to Li-ion batteries that have been used for 6mo or more. None of our batteries are that old.
