Yeah I am a model(not anything big)...it's to pay for college
Im waiting for my best friend to get off so we can go to at & t...Im trying to talk her out of an iphone....
That blue is pulling me...But then the Captivate is like "Come to me, Carmen...you'll love me"
haha
ughhh
If i do get the Captivate, i will at least post my first hand experiences with the Xperia though
But i would love to know the bugs of the OS on the Captivate...
Aside from GPS, i havent heard much
Random reboots, random shutdowns (in the middle of the night even), random freezes, delays between when the phone starts ringing and you can actually see who is calling, delays when ending a call, sometimes does not wake up from sleep (screen timeout), and other similar issues. I duked it out for 28 days and as soon as I messed around with the X10 I realized just how bad the Samsung OS build really was. The KIES software (that is not even included or mentioned) is the biggest piece of garbage I have seen in over a decade. Getting it to work is an exercise in frustation and actually trying to use it once it's working is even worse. Of course, it still doesn't work all the time and some people even had to remove the external SD card to get it to work at all. Believe me, I can get it to work but I'm a computer geek with 20 years of employment in IT under my belt. It really is that bad.
The X10 is on 1.6 and is much more stable and performs much more fluidly. The GPS is amazingly quick and accurate and the PC software is really top notch. It will even import all your playlists from iTune (if you use it) and WMP. It is a night and day experience as far as I'm concerned.
I forgot to mention about the soft keys. The Captivate has no physical buttons for menu, back, home or search. They are "soft" buttons that are part of the touch panel. I am not a fan of these type buttons to begin with but the Captivate implementation is terrible. They do not light up unless you unlock and touch the screen. I found myself constantly having to hit the back key twice before it would register and also hitting the search button all the time by mistake. If you load one of the UK Galaxy S roms it gets even worse. It is all these little things that gave me the feeling that this phone was sort of just slapped together and barely tested.
