Bell Atrix [Canada]

Yeah I got it from T-Booth too and they said the same thing to me. Unlocking will indeed void the warrenty. I was planning on getting that unlock code (the site Sparro linked) right when I got back from the mall but luckily I decided against that and just gave it a day or so of just messing with the phone. Ended up being a good call because I actually just exchanged my Atrix today since the previous one was acting kinda funny (randomly typing and turning screen into landscape mode).
Yup, I'm testing mind before I unlock it, lol. Just playing around and seeing if I notice anything.
Also speaking of cases I saw at T-Booth the Otterbox one buts its $50!! Madness! Any cheap alternative? I don't need a bomb proof case lol.

Ouch, if you don't need one immediately, you can go online (ebay). I got the Incipio case for $30, which isn't too bad considering on the website it's $24.99 (though ebay is cheaper).

*yay* Got my Atrix yesterday for the off contract price!!!
Good stuff!
:D
The T-Booth guy said that if I unlocked my phone, I void my warranty :( I clarified with him if he meant 'carrier unlock' or 'root' and he said both voids my warranty. Is this right? I didn't know carrier unlock voids your warranty :/
He's wrong. Carrier network or SIM unlocking does NOT void your warranty - that's why the code is there in the first place, for you to change a feature of the phone. You can get an unlock code directly from Bell CSRs if you pay for it, and that doesn't void your warranty either. The manufacturer doesn't care if it's unlocked or not. The carrier cares because it means you might not use their network, but that's what term contracts are for. Carrier locks should never have been allowed from day one.

Anywho, ignore the warnings - unlocking does not void your warranty.
:)

Don't believe them...unlocking does NOT void the warranty. The only reason they say that is to intimidate you, and it's wrong.

WirelessWave has the Incipio Feather case which is a hard but thin case. BestBuy sells one like it but it's like a clear case. FutureShop has a 2-pack TPU gel case, one black and one white/clear. All of them sell for $25 or less.

I can also confirm that unlocking does NOT void warranty. Also, rooting isn't an issue. You can always "un-root" before you return the phone. Or .. just delete the superuser icon, as most salespeople can't be bothered to check :D

Ok thats good news. Maybe the sales rep was refering to the 15 day refund policy. I think if I unlocked it I wouldn't be able to return it.

Anyways I also picked up the Otterbox Impact case. Very nice cover! The Incipio I was looking online and at the store and it doesn't look like it covers the entire sides as much as I would like it too...

Yeah, the Incipio is a very minimal protection case. I like it because it's not noticable and it looks like it's part of the phone versus a case. I just want it for slip and scratch protection. I think it should be handle a light drop like from my night table, lol. So it's good enough for me. Happy that you found a case you like :)

Anybody know if the AT&T software update will work on the Bell units?
Is a Bell software update coming as well seeing we have the same issues?

The wireless wave near my bell store had some "iShieldz" brand for sale, it was quite pricey but it was a different installation than I was used to. Basically it came with a solvent that you had to spray on it, then you squeegeed it on the screen and it cured. It was 20$ however but I was desperate for a screen protector and the bell rep ripped off my stock plastic guard when he was setting up my phone. TBH with all the screen protectors i've used and installed(iTouch, PSP3k, PSPGO, NDSlite, NDSiXL) I must say im rather happy with it. I'm very careful when I apply screen protectors but I usually get a bubble or some dust or whatever under, this one is flawless. I do recommend it but it is pricey like I said.

this looks like the right thread so here we go -

Those of you in Canada looking to get all the right fixin's for your Atrix I can reccommend a few things. First of all the phone itself. Yes it is, as far as I'm concerned, the best and most powerful smartphone on the market as of right now. Upload speeds are, as was said above, pretty much the only argument the competition has left, and on that note, first of all, the cap will likely get removed sooner rather than later (the U.S. is already prepping to remove it) and secondly, that cap is really going to have little to zero impact on your regular day to day use. The only reason the Atrix is drawing a lot of trollish posts recently is because it's the first of numerous dual-core phones to come out this year. Once the other brands hit the shelves many of them will find a few favorite to hate on. This phone is fantastic! Another little known factoid you mught find interesting is that Motorola tied Apple for 1st place for the least amount of hardware/software malfunction warranty claims of 50,000 phones tested in 2010. It beat Apple for least warranty claims due to customer accidents (dropping etc). Great performing phone, solid manufacturer record.

Next, the quote above. I also grabbed that exact same screen protector, and it's one of the best products on the market right now. You'll find them at any Canadian mobile retailer. Be nice and persuasive and most of the smaller outfits will even put it on for you (wireless wave guy did mine perfectly in 5 minutes). Well worth the $20. Yeah Gorilla Glass is tough, but $20 to totally ensure I'm going to be scratch free is pretty damn cheap. I've managed to scratch gorilla glass before. poop happens. You just bought a cutting edge phone, are you seriously going to waffle over a lousy $20?

Cases. Lots of issues about cases for this phone when it comes to the various docks available. The most popular case being talked about right now is the Incipio Feather because it's low profile allows it to (sort of) fit into most of the docks (it's still not a perfect fit). The only criticism I've read is that the Feather doesn't cover the top and bottom of the phone. I found a case that has pretty much as low a profile as the Feather, has all-around coverage, fits the car dock about the same as the Feather (neither fit it perfectly) and has a nice finish to it. Believe it or not it's the Bell Mobility brand "Black and Clear Hybrid Protective Shield" made for the Atrix. Same price as the feather too. Has a nice glossy black finish, with a clear back design and knurled grip patterns along the sides.

I have the incipio feather lite case on my atrix. I also have the standard dock which I use on my night stand and put the phone into night mode.
But, I can't get it to fit in the dock with the case on... I have to remove the case every night and its starting on my nerves!!!
How have some of you guys got it to fit in the dock??? Please do tell???

I was under the impression that the standard dock is the one dock that no one can get to fit a case in
