Root Best 2.3 ROM to use? Does installing Clockworkmod require I root first?

Thanks. :D Just needed to clarify that small detail. Seeing how this is "All Things Root". Which of the CM7 is less buggy if anyone knows?

I think mine has less bugs :) TG just never listed out all of the known ones, if he did, the list would be longer.

Oh, you have definitely improved on things. One thing I like about his is that it is more vanilla android (you have added more stuff). Both are good ROMs and you are still keeping yours current/actively developing. I was only listing options as I feel people should make their own choice and find what suits them better.

The entire thread is a mess and is hard to follow. I'll give yours a try.

Now I have run into a separate new issue. I was trying to install CWM and I was trying to extract the recovery.img original so I can have a copy on my computer. But it keep reconnecting over and over again so I couldn't extract the original nor even more CWM's recovery.img in there. There has to be a stable way to install the drivers so my computer can recognize each and every time. Because when I do install the Phone F USB Driver that comes up when I first plug it in, than it doesn't recognize it anymore after that so I'm cut off from my sdcard to even move files in there. I know you guys have a [Fix] thread but I would love a guide on how to exactly install them properly in this thread.

All this help is greatly appreciated. :D

To do the download mode stuff I don't think you need the drivers, it is probably a wonky connection between the phone and computer (which has happened to me). You are putting it in download mode?

Make sure you set it somewhere stable so the phone and cable are not moving that should minimize the disconnects.

Thanks. I got it installed. I used a different USB cable (i have a couple laying around) and a different port. Now as of right now there are now no drivers installed and when I plug it in, it recognizes it. Will this be fine from now on?

I run windows 7 and don't remember installing drivers (they might have auto installed the first time though) so as long as it works you are fine. :)

I think windows 7 automatically installed them the only drivers I had to install were adb drivers... I think
