No problem. I actually use a Dolphin AddIn called Desktop Toggles to switch. That way it's just a quick press of an icon to switch back and forth.

I would say Dolphin HD is the best alternative but I keep coming back to the Stock/MIUI one. Gestures are unnecessary for me and I like to be able to swipe up and down, left to right without my viewing screen shifting to show pointless add-ons and such.

You can turn this off in the settings, uncheck "enable swipe action".
