Best Browser for FROYO???

Hey all. I'm looking for people's opinions on which browser they think is best for 2.2 and why. I've searched and mostly came up with older threads talking about browsers that let you view flash sites, obviously before FROYO.

I've experienced a problem on a couple different sites, using the stock browser, where the webpage continuously reloads, so when I zoom in to read something, 5 seconds later, the page reloads and it zooms back out. I've tried stopping the page and 5 seconds later, it still reloads. Very annoying, so I was going to try another browser and see what happens.

Any thoughts or comments please?

Thanks.

I just downloladed and tried out the new Firefox 4 Beta for Android. I've also tried SkyFire, Opera Mini and the default browser.

But in my opinion, Dolphin HD is still the winner.

Dolphin HD is still the winner.

Yep. ^This. I switched to Dolphin from the stock browser about a week after I got my phone at the end of July and haven't look back since. The tabbed browsing is awesome. And the themes and add-ons you can download from the market really add to it too.

Just tried Life Browser today. It has some unique features. I also have Opera, Skyfire, Firefox and Dolphin HD. I still like Dolphin the best but I'm thinking firefox may win after it comes out of beta.

dolphin hd is great and I would also try xscope. I might even like it better. Go into settings and set the zoom to 2.0 and everything renders perfectly. Speed wise they are very similar and I find myself using both.
I didn't like skyfire or firefox and opera, while fast is kind of annoying.

Can anyone figure out how to disable mobile web browsing on Dolphin HD?

I can't find it and that's a deal breaker.

I've tried all of them; Firefox, Dolphin HD, Stock, MIUI, Skyfire.

I would say Dolphin HD is the best alternative but I keep coming back to the Stock/MIUI one. Gestures are unnecessary for me and I like to be able to swipe up and down, left to right without my viewing screen shifting to show pointless add-ons and such.

pretty much this. stock browser is just the most consistently accurate renderer as well.

I like the dolphin HD too - and I think it's a great alternative and I've tried a lot of others, but I also just keep going back to the stock browser. There's nothing intrinsically wrong with it. It works for what I need, which is a basic, no bells and whistles browser.

but now having just typed that, I realize I have been using dolphin more and more lately and I think at some point I might tip completely to dolphin.

For now, it's Dolphin just because you can exit and kill the process - the stock one always makes my phone hot and uses CPU even when I'm not looking at it.

Eventually, I see myself switching to Firefox once it and its desktop coutnerpart are out of beta - it looks better than Chrome and any Android browser, and combined, it'll be great.

Man, you guys had me all sold on dolphin hd so I downloaded it, got it all dialed in, only to discover the bookmarks don't respond half the time. I rebooted I did a battery pull, but nothing worked. If anyone has had this problem and knows of a fix, please help.

I downloaded the widget for quick launch to bookmarks but when I launch Dolphin the home page comes up instead of the bookmarks and when I click on to the Bookmarks widget it asks me to export the bookmarks. How do I go directly to my bookmarks when I launch Dolphin?

does anyone have any slowdown/lag/memory leaks with dolphin hd? after a while, i get slow scrolling, typing, etc - to the point where it's unusuable.

i've tried firefox, and i don't like their rendering engine (scroll - blank screen, then partially render, then full render).

Stock, can't get any better than the zoom/snap to fit screen feature.

I agree with how easy the stock browser is but haven't tried others. Is there a succint list of what makes Dolphin so compelling versus stock?

Awaiting Firefox and hopefully bookmark coordination.
