Best buy atrix update

It's 110% want too. Been flashing/cooking roms since my htc wizard in 2005. Gotta keep pushing the envelope. There's always something that looks good on the next rom. Besides, google sync and titanium just enables more flashing. (like sashimi and UC scripts if anyone here is a old winmo convert)

Many thanks for the confirmations, sorry for hijacking and I'll move to the bootloader thread. Very new to android forums outside of xda android HD2. I'm more than ready for a real android phone but dont want to make a 2 year mistake. Sadly it looks like Motorola is off the list.
 
Great news for the release date! I have been busy so haven't really been able to keep up with the latest Atrix news. I will still end up waiting till MWC though (I have waited 1.5-2 years, what's another couple weeks?).

Well stuff announced at MWC might not get released till Q2 or Q3 who knows. It's all about the now, for me at least. There is always Craigslist, hell I sold my iPhone 4 for $700 on Craigslist so I would do the same for the Atrix if there is something that blows me away. Although I don't expect to get $700 for it but I will make my money back and then some.
 
doey anyone know how long it usually takes for moto to release the phones in europe after their initial release in the us?
would be really interested because then i could choose betwenn the optimus 2x and the atrix :)
btw does the atrix also have the feuture of hdmi mirroring so i can browse on the internet on my big tv for example? just asking :D

There isn't really a good precedent for phones going from the US to Europe, it really depends for each model. That said I believe I heard it was coming to Orange in Q2 (I'm not 100% though since that doesn't really impact me)

As for HDMI mirroring, I don't think it's exactly the same as how the optimus 2x does it but you definitely can connect to a tv via mini HDMI > HDMI and use the webtop app to surf the web. (the phone then turns into a "trackpad" and keyboard for input)
 
The release date works fine for me. Got my Captivate for $0.01, back in Sept and it is starting to give me problems. Going to use some of my tax return for the Atrix.

Yeah, I know but the wait is not too much of an issue for me. I have an iPhone 4 but I can't really sell it as I need some sort of iPod Touch so I might as well use it in conjunction with an Atrix or another phone. I would just be inclined to wait just for LTE and possibly even for Tegra 3. I mean, if I end up waiting 6 months for LTE and then Tegra 3 is just a couple months off, it wouldn't be too bad. Like I said, though, I have an iPhone 4 that I can use in the mean time so it is not a totally bad alternative for waiting.
 
The 13th sounds good to me. Would make a great Valentine's day gift. Time to start giving hints:D
 
My best friend is a mobile manager, he said they haven't heard anything regarding the atrix

I don't plan on getting it at Best Buy anyway but would suck for some it they don't release it in all stores at launch. Well Ill get from BB if they release it before AT&T and if there is some instant rebate that I'll have to mail in for AT&T.

Not visual proof i'm at liberty of posting due to the fact it would be a violation of my occupation. Take it as what you will.... And your proof of exclusivity is?

well it seems that there are multiple people on here who have corroborated the fact that the Atrix will launch on FEB 13th at Best Buy before other channels

I'll put it this way. If a carrier hosts an advocate type program for it's COR employees, it's not going to go to an Authorized Retailer first for exclusive sales time periods. It's a waste of money, time, and effort to train a bunch of people across the country on a device they can't even sell in their stores but an authorized retailer does. It's not a good business sense. We'll let it pan out and we'll see, I suppose.

For me at the end of the day, the date is the most important part :-) If it's not exclusive to Best Buy that's great, then I can choose where I want to get it and hopefully be more likely to find it soon; if it is exclusive, well I can work with that too (hopefully my neighborhood store will be all stocked up!)

Either way, I'm hoping we're just a couple long weeks away :-)

Just think though, why would at&t not sell one of the most sought after phones that was announced at CES in their COR stores before best buy? Why would they train thousands of employees on the device before the launch just to have them wait for a month or two after launch to sell it? Doesn't make sense, does it?

because there are more Best Buy stores than AT&T and in the end AT&T makes money either way
