Best Buy availability

Went to a BB in the near north burbs of Chicago and they were clueless. I had them search the nearby stores and they said nobody had them. I only asked about Sprint but their cluelessness makes me think they don't have any carrier.

That's weird because they have had them, it was even on the online store. Maybe you talked to regular uninformed employees? Or maybe that best buy just isn't with the flow of things haha

I've called 2 BB's in Kansas City, they both expect the Note's to be on the UPS shipment today. They said it usually comes by 1.

Incase you think you can wait and you are a rewardzone member, when they add the Note 2 to this site

https://rewardzonemobile.com/

and you use "RZSAVE10" as the offer code it will save you 10%.

If neither of those BB's near me get them today, I will probably wait until it gets added on there to save an extra $30

I just called another near by BB. The guy who answered knew of the phone right away. He said their system is saying November 11th. He also mentioned that they are taking pre orders on the white model.

Between the $200 gift card I already bought, the RZ points and the pricematch/return policy I feel as if I am stuck.

I'll call another store this evening and see what they have to say.

If the rumors that the split screen not being available in the states is true I may end up passing on the phone altogether.

Heard a similar thing last night.

Really? Which store was taking pre-orders? I'd much rather do that then continually having to call!...hahaha

I hope you're right. It would be awesome if I could drop by Best Buy on my way home and find out that they got some in stock.

Finally, I got more information from Best Buy. I called another store that I hadn't contacted yet, but I prefer going to since it's actually the closest to my house (not necessarily the closest to work). They don't have any indication when they'll be getting it in stock, but they are taking pre-orders! I don't mind waiting, as long as I have a pre-order in and they get stocked sometime before the end of December. As anxious as I was to get this right away (as my birthday gift to myself), I don't mind the delay in getting it through Best Buy, since it'll extend when my 45 day (Silver Rewards) return/exchange timeframe will end (still holding out a small inkling of hope that the higher memory versions will be launched later).

Pre-order available for Sprint version...but, the system won't allow a change as an "upgrade" price, so it only works for their full retail (which is $799...not surprising, cuz Best Buy always marks that up...but I did talk to a rep and they said that they'll match Sprint's retail price, as long as it's in stock at a local Sprint)

I'm just going to go into my local Best Buy to pre-order and hopefully, they'll surprisingly get a shipment this weekend. If not, I'll just wait for whenever it does come in.

How does the Best Buy pre-order work exactly?? I do not want to further hamstring myself by committing a non refundable deposit or something.

In the past, they required a $50 deposit (which would be returned as a Best Buy Gift Card). From what I remembered before, with other people that had pre-ordered but decided not to purchase the device, they were able to get a refund on the deposit and returned the gift card.

That said, the LTEvo release didn't require a $50 deposit for pre-order. I'll report back, after I head to Best Buy tonight and let you all know.

See if they can check the SKU (6941414) in RSS. I don't know how phones work in their system, but it should give information on what is in transit to the store and what is in the Distribution Center. I'd do it, but I'm at a national conference and won't be home until tomorrow afternoon.

My bad. I didn't see your post until now, but I was able to pre-order, but only the white. Good thing is, Best Buy's exchange/return process is so easy. And as soon as they have grey available for pre-order, I can switch if they don't receive inventory.

Reading til the end always helps cause I was like....WHAT? When did he decide to get white. :D

Hahaha... Well, at first I was set on white, but I was convinced the grey had to look way better in person than it did in any of the pictures or videos. I was planning on deciding based on seeing the display models, so since I am on vacation till Tuesday, I do plan on going to the Sprint store to see the grey in person. If I like it, then I'll call best buy tomorrow to see if pre-order opened up for that. If not, I'll try again every day until they get their inventory... Lol. Worse case scenario, I'll trade it at any best buy that has the grey in stock.

My perspective on the grey/white debate was a cleaner looking phone no matter what kind or color of case/skin/anything you have on it. When I saw them in person today, it solidified it. The grey front flows better with the black screen; the white looks bulkier to me. Illusions... I think David Copperfield was there.

I didn't even ask to see the gray. Walked in the door saying white galaxy note!
I wish I could see myself on video yesterday. I'm usually cool and collected. But yesterday I was tweaking for this phone. When I finally go to sleep I'm going to crash hard.

Ladies, you're not making this any easier for me...LOL. All good though. I seriously can see myself owning either color, as I've had both white and grey phones before. Oddly enough, my last grey phone was the Samsung i500.

Well, I'll see them in the Sprint store after picking up the Microsoft Surface. As soon as I see them in person, I'll know for sure.

Will Best Buy have the best deal on the Note 2? I'll also check Wirefly later, as their site lists the phone as "Coming Soon".

It looks like with Best Buy you can use the 10% off code and get reward points. Looks like the price match guarantee only has to do with local retailers.

Also, going through Best Buy won't delete my corporate discount, correct?

And any way to avoid the "Upgrade Fee"?

No way to avoid activation fee, unless directly purchased through Sprint.

Upgrade through best buy will not mess with account.

Best deal? If you're looking for the" best deal " this close to release, just wait.

Thanks for the reply. What would I be waiting for? For the price to drop at Amazon or something?

Also, it seems like the price is going to be just about the same if I'd have to pay the upgrade fee through Best Buy, but not through Sprint.

Amazon and Wirefly are the places that have been known to do special deals shortly after release. If you're looking for the "best deal" I assumed you didn't need to get the phone right away.

I'm confused by what you're saying. The 36 fee is charged by sprint no matter what, even if you upgrade through Best Buy.

Thanks for the tip. Maybe I'll wait a bit to see if a higher memory version will be released, and also wait to see what happens with Wirefly and Amazon.

I thought you were saying that if you purchase the device through Sprint there's no fee, but there would be if you get it through Best Buy. Were you saying something different?

If I recall, when I've upgraded a device in the past I was able to negotiate with a Sprint rep over the phone to drop the fee, but I can't remember for sure.

No, that's not what I said. What I said was exactly what YOU just said in your last statement. Only way to get the activation fee waived is to purchase directly from Sprint (and I should've also added that there's no guarantee that they'll do it).

If you purchase from any 3rd party retailer, they will not waive the activation fee. I already tried when I had my family member's phone upgraded to the MoPho Q.

I went to my local BB last night, just outside milwaukee, they said the phone hasnt been released yet, I informed them that it has and they said "oh well then we dont know if we'll get it" nice.....
