Verizon Wireless
Hey fans, we appreciate all the excitement about the anticipated launch of the ThunderBolt by HTC. We're excited too! Verizon 4G LTE is America’s fastest, most advanced 4G network & we want to ensure the advanced technology behind our first 4G LTE phone is flawless. We will announce its release date as soon as it is confirmed. Thanks for your support & patience while we work to bring you the ThunderBolt by HTC.

FU, VZW!!! Just give us a GD date already!! You OWE us that at this point!!! While YOU might appreciate all the "excitement" (read: "contempt"), I don't appreciate you jerking us around with this release! Yeah, I know you haven't ever officially given us a date for us to call this whole mess a delay, but damn, it's high time you said SOMETHING to calm the masses -- LET'S HEAR IT!!!:mad::mad:

I wouldn't trust a Ouija board for communicating to your neighbor's sister's.........teacher's dead father. It runs on AT&T's network.....

At this point a Ouija board might be more reliable than half the rumors that have been floating around! ;)

Just saw Verizon's release...though it tells us a whole lot of nothing, I'll take it over the silence or the go talk about "other topics" comment from last week. At least they're acknowledging it exists...

Guys and Girls,

This means they are not even close. If the were releasing this Thursday or even Next Thursday, they would just tell you the date. The fact that they had noting to add today tells me they are no where near the launch date.

We should stop wasting our time on this. LOL

One thing I gather from this announcement is that we should expect them to actually announce a release date and not just drop the phone into our laps.

I expect them to announce tomorrow that the phone will show up on Thursday, similar to the Xoom.

Wishful thinking on Thursday methinks >.>

The Mobile Panda announced the Thunderbolt was a "go" after they fixed the battery issue last night. It seems like that was what was holding back the release. The Xoom was officially announced 2 days earlier than release. Maybe VZW is a creature of habit like the rest of us.

[POP!]
That was the sound of my bubble bursting once again.
As intelligent as I THINK I am, I'm really just a fool who believes that the next rumored date will be the one. So, let's focus on Thursday now? :)

I'm leaning in this direction as well. There is no reason to make any sort of official announcement if the next official announcement that actually contains a firm date is right around the corner.

That being said this does appear quite contradictory with the whole private tweet "Thunderbolts are a go".

Maybe they need an entire week more to barrage the web and TV with TB ads...

the "thunderbolt being a go" meant nothing more than the firmware being finished, which has absolutely nothing to do with us receiving the bolts

Do they? lol

ok

Hell yeah they do! I mean, I'm actually patient and can wait for whenever the release is, but man, it would be nice if they treated us like adults and gave us some real info instead of acting like this isn't a big deal. If it's firmware issues, if it's battery life issues, it's LTE issues....whatever, just come out and say:

'We know you're excited about the HTC Thunderbolt, but we're putting the finishing touches on [insert reason] to make sure our customers have the best possible experience on launch day with what will certainly be a revolutionary phone. At this time we are hope for a mid March release, but please check back right here for the latest on a firm release date. Thank you for your patience, Click-Clack.'

I mean, is that too much to ask? Honestly.

I wonder if the general public has the same view we have on this phone? We know how much of a cluster this has been but I would be curious to see what other outside the forums may think?

I don't know if you noticed but at least in my area Southern California the ads have not aired in several days, and have been pulled from VZW's YouTube Channel.
oddly the Best Buy - Mission Viejo has started advertising the TB as of yesterday on their IVR when calling in. SO who the eff knows.

Well half of my friends asked why would I want a 4G phone when there is 6G.. Thanks a lot BB Bieber commercial.. And I saw a ton of tweets of random people on 24th saying The thunderbolt's coming out today!!!

Wow, I get off work and what i see is just a teaser from Verizon on facebook about when its ready we'll announce a date

but of course, they could also be trying to get your attention on there pages for whats to come :D

I'm gonna sit out today i think

Where is the logic behind this statement?
do you know what stage verizon is at as far as having the items packaged and ready to be shipped to stores? do you know if the advertising team is planning on doing anything more before the release? do you know if there is any other training or system updates needed before the phone can actually go on sale? is verizon going to individually update the firmware before shipping? or will they do it at the time of activation?

there are an infinite amount of things that could still hold the tb up even if all the firmware was perfect. there is alot more to releasing a phone than just having a working phone
