Best Buy Details

After the debacle on the 14th I would have thought that BB at the corporate level would be hesitant to advertise anything about the TB till they had a more definitive release date.
 
I think the thing everyone should be pissed about is that the price of the phone went up $50 overnight. not the same price I was quoted when I pre-rodered.
 
I don't blame BB about the unavailability of the phone. That said, I WILL poke them in the forehead until they honor the free buyback deal for those who pre-ordered.

Where are you seeing it at $299? That is before the instant rebate at BB, no?
 
one would assume that if is today's paper then it will be sold today! Otherwise it is the CRAP Best Buy doing since 2/7/11 with a lick and promise that the phone would arrive 2/14/11 which did not happen. If Best Buy is going to put it out in the paper then they should back it up by providing the phone. This whole thing as left a bad taste in my mouth about Best Buy and i sure i am not alone.
 
for preorders you MAY get free buy back, but it's available until the 26th. I still think the 24th as the release.

So do I. I woud really just BB to "man up" and do the right thing by their customers... tell us what is going on. Make a public statement that VZW has delayed the launch. Then we can turn out attention to the REAL idiots here. I would LOVE to get my hands on something official. And don't worry, after I leave BB, I'm thinking of going to VZW and telling them that I would like to buy an iPhone4 with every intention of returning it when the TBolt comes out. There is no release date... no one has done anything wrong, so I'm not wrong to buy another phone and return it if and when the phone I want is released.

In the ad I see, it says $249 after instant in store rebate, (something to that affect) which would make it $249 after. Anyone else's ad say that?

Well, for what little it may be worth, employees don't always know all the details to everything. Additionally, there are times when things change that are beyond the control of any employee (such as release date changes).

Yes, it's disappointing, but at the end of the day they still have a business that needs to be operated to a set of standards and guidelines.


Only a few more days from what it looks like though. Waiting a few more days won't kill anyone. ;)

a) You know what they say about those who assume.

b) How do you imagine they can back up providing something which they clearly do not have to provide? A few days ago we were discussing how advertising tabs happen. You cannot stop publication of an advertising piece on a dime. BB may very well have had confidence that they'd have the phones when the tab went to press. It really sounds like you believe they can simply pull phones out of a hat to back up the ads. I am fairly certain that if it was completely up to BB, they would be happy to sell you the phone at this instant.
 
You guys are funny. Debating pricing that Verizon has not announced yet, has not provided ANY indication of a release date.

This is COMPLETELY BB fault. As far as I am concerned, BB should have NEVER released ANY info. They are the complete reason people are pissed.

EVERY OUNCE OF INFO LEADS BACK TO BB. They caused ALL OF US to have a ficticious DATE and PRICE.

On that note, headed there now to my MONEY down on the XOOM, which BTW VZW has not announce yet either ;-)

It was enough to cause me to sell a my droid x on ebay which i shipped out on 2/14/11 when tell someone 100% by 7 different people then you would think they knew what they where talk about. That don't seem to be the case when it come to best buy employees.
 
299$ That's the price officially printed in the weekly add. This Thunderbolt phone becomes not my dream phone but my nightmare....
