Best Buy Details

Some info if you guys didn't know, but Apple puts in strict conditions in order to sell their product. I was on AT&T and I had learned everything about the Galaxy S before it was to be released. Samsung had given the official launch date but nothing from AT&T. I kept wondering what was going on. No advertisements, no emails from the distribution list. Nothing, the phone was just there to buy when Samsung said it would be. Come to find out, Apple put a two week gag order on AT&T from mentioning ANY phone during a release of an iPhone, EVERY year. This was part of the exclusivity arrangement. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Apple had a similar stipulation with Verizon. The 24th is exactly 2 weeks from the 10th.

Perhaps Apple told Verizon that they couldn't release this until a certain number of Iphones were sold. That's why Verizon has to keep pushing this date back.

I doubt that. Only because they expected to sell SO many the first day and failed. We would never reach that quota and they would have to drop it. Also they haven't been advertising the iphone as much as they were before.

I like the new commercial with the guy jumping from rooftop to rooftop connecting cables. The little girl can count all she wants, cause she isn't making any progress. LOL

Forgive me if this has been "suggested":

The commercial with the girl counting down, 3 Mississippi, 2 etc etc . Could that be the date? 3-2-1, could mean 3/21/11? I am sure I am not the only one that noticed this.

Oh good grief, are you trying to stir the pot? ;) Better not be what it means, or I'm sure you Mods will spends HOURS deleting innappropriate posts. LOL

Also, if that is what it means, I will be cancelling my preorder asap. lol

Nice catch, hadn't thought of that... It could also mean March 2nd... :D

It means nothing. There are no hidden clues there. Just a little girl counting the seconds between lightning, and thunder. It just means that the thunderbolt is coming.

Except that you don't count down between lightning strikes, you count up.

Edit: I should have actually watched the video before posting. She actually does count up but the lightning is getting closer each time she counts.

I finally got to see and hold a dummy unit of the ThunderBolt and i'm impressed with the design, it feels very solid and weighs only a little more than the Droid Incredible with a case on it.

while i was there talking to my Verizon friends, i asked about LTE pricing
I dropped my jaw when she said that they were not going to charge extra for it (she said it with extreme confidence) and that it will be unlimited, and she went on to say since LTE has greater range than 3G does and with all the towers Verizon purchased for this huge upgrade she said that the entire united states will be blanketed in LTE when its fully rolled out, meaning the dead zone i have 20miles from me going into the next state for about 10 miles would no longer be a dead zone, it wouldn't have 3G but it would have LTE.

and I asked about dates, she said her entire store has heard about the best buy fiasco and there even getting customers calling and asking them about it and how bestbuy shouldn't be taunting its customers with false dates, then she went on to say that the dates she's been hearing are the 24th or 28th into the last day of the first week of March.

she and I were pretty much in agreement that since Verizon announced the XOOM being available on the 24th and no updates regarding the ThunderBolt is pretty much a confirmation that we may not see it until next week or later.

then I asked about the possibility of a car dock / desktop dock, she said that she can almost guarantee there will be one for this device since it is a flagship phone and the first LTE phone at that and when she saw that the USB port was on the side like the Droid phones she was definitely certain it would get a dock because of that.

Just updating with what i found out today, these friends of mine were right about the details they gave me for the Droid X before it launched
which also reminds me, I even asked about working demo units, she said that they would most likely get them before the launch but not until after its announced.
