Not trying to be an A** but I believe it's actually every second means the lightning was 1/5 of a mile away. So 5 seconds means 1 mile away

Yeah I remember studying it later in school and finding out it was actually much less than a mile. In the fun of being a kid and a kid doing the counting in the video I kept it at what it WAS considered though: "Each second was considered 1 mile away." ;) but thanks for clarifying.

Anyway, I'm assuming we'd have the phone by tomorrow if we're doing thursday

Well, since everything is covered and we really don't have much more to talk about, how about: At what point jay, would you say "if we don't have it now, Thursday is definitely not going to happen". I mean, you wouldn't be getting these Thursday morning would you?

Excellent question! Jay?

every single day I get on here and hope for the best. Every single time it's always the same story, hope for news tomorrow..... round 50.

I just want it! I'm a driver for fedex and BB is on the list today and tuesday for a big delievery so we will see! i'm off today (my bday) so ill find out later what it was plus its a rush drop off cause we just got hit with snow so who knows
Any news on the big delivery? Hope you had a nice bday.

Not sure if this had been explored yet, but probably since this is nearly a 30pg thread. Have we discussed the ramifications of a last-minute release date on supply and demand? A release date far in advance allows for more to anticipate launch day and crowd stores trying to get it on day one. The company has to be prepared for this by having tons of devices in stock (see Verizon iphone release). With as much buzz as the thunderbolt already has, wouldn't it be in verizon's best interest to announce a day or two ahead of launch to spread out sales and avoid a shortage, which could hurt sales in the long run?

Just a thought.

I have a BB question : why can't I just walk out with the phone and activate it myself? During the OG Droid launch, they insisted on porting my number and activating the phone themselves. I know some other people have had the same experience. Why do they do this?

you can buy it off contract for $749.99 and do that.

The lady at Bestbuy told me that she saw something saying the 24th in her system yesterday. When she went to show me, she couldn't find it. Go figure.

If the FREE Buy Back is still going on when BB finally gets it, I'll get it there. Otherwise, I get it through Wirefly and use the $50 pre-order card for accessories.

Question about the BB buyback program. I remember people saying on here that you get the buyback percentage for what the phone retails for, but when reading the fine print on best buy ads it states the 'purchase price'....any clarification on this?

Someone just tweeted: "Thunderbolt, it's not your dream phone it's the one after that. Probably because they're only going to release it in our dreams." LMAO Alright Verizon, the natives are getting restless!

Can anyone tell me the advantage of buying at a Best Buy over a Verizon corporate store? I have always felt more comfortable when I do not have to go through a third party such as Best Buy. Any help is appreciated.

Like he said ^^ buyback should be free. They dont charge a restocking fee, they sometimes have better prices than verizon, and they will most likely match your NE2 if you still have one. I also prefer there protection plan over verizons insurance.

I believe they will send you phone away for up to a few weeks to have it repaired before giving you a new phone with the best buy insurance. I would rather save my money.
