Best Buy Details

How can the phone not come out soon? Like the 10th? Why would you advertise for something coming out in october or june. No one would buy it if it came out in June. People are so pissed.. This is getting unreal. Has to be the 10th or why even release the phone....
 
Jay you think its coming out next week? Seriously your gut feeling? How can you have pamphlets and stations in store and not release the product?

Really does his gut feeling really matter. It is still something he knows he will be speculating. LOL an average employee or even a manager does what their boss tells them. They tell them to put something up they do it. Corporate runs the show. I am sure they are getting ready for a launch but they have been since the 7th of february.
 
I agree, there is no way htc is going to let them wait for another 2 weeks to release this when they got there commercials and advertising running. Last week when I asked my local vz Corp store about when it going to be out he wouldn't give me an exact date so I said well at least in the next 2 weeks and i was oh most definitely. I hope that guy that said the phones are shipping is true.
 
Ive been following this thread for a couple of weeks now, but I finally decided to make an account. I preorderd the phone the day preorders started and currently have an lg env touch. The thing is a peice of crap. I have to restart it a couple times a day. Sometimes it wont show any of my contacts, pics or any other files. The phone turns off on its own when i have it on silent then turns back on by itself on full volume (not good when im in class). lol if you couldnt tell im pretty frustrated and just cant wait to get my first smartphone. I cant believe verizon and lg were allowed to sell something as bad as the env touch. Anyway, lets hope we hear news soon. I literally cant wait any longer.

Its not hard. I currently plug my phone in just about every night. But sometimes I forget or don't have access to my charger so I need it to last a little bit long. I don't expect this to be a problem with the thunderbolt though.

LTE will be used only for data. The phone is still 3G. If you are/were happy with VZWs 3G network you will continue to be happy with it. VoLTE is coming but I doubt to the TB. Not much need really. Voice just does not require the bandwidth.

Good to know, I forgot about the no VoLTE thing. Like you said, no need for it. I was, however, planning on streaming music while driving (if 4g data is the same price as 3g data), which would require LTE to be handing off correctly.

I have and envy touch to and it does the samething to me too. I want the thunderbolt bad.
 
yeah i had some dns issues, swapped them out and am good, got a little excited there for a second thought maybe they announced something lol
 
omg internet is down! Tbolt is coming!

i went to bestbuy at the mall here and they have 4 pedestal things with phones on them on both sides... well one pedestal (column) has pictures of tbolt and coming soon and all that but instead of fake tbolts they put fake droid incredibles in its place, so i guess if you close your eyes and fondle incredible you can only imagine how tbolt would feel in your hands.
it was kinda funny.
 
Is it really worth it to have a deposit or preorder on this phone? While I want it as bad as anyone else, I would be livid if I had cash out on something with no firm dates. Maybe if everyone starts getting their money back we would see some reaction. Money talks and vzw BS can take a walk with no official info.
 
Yup definitely just saw the "You" HTC commercial that just says exclusively at Verizon and not "coming soon". This has gotten way beyond ridiculous.

There's a possibility Best Buy will start selling it exclusively on March 8th, beginning with those who pre-ordered. Rumors have been circulating just today that some of the more knowledgeable Best Buy staff have been throwing around that March 8 date when asked about the TB. Others say the 10th. Most don't know.

What we know right now is that an announcement is imminent and will come by Monday at the latest. I'm pretty confident the release date isn't going to be later than the 10th, even despite the announcement delays.

Thunderbolt devices began shipping to stores today. I think store employees are going to be notified of this sometime tomorrow, at which point maybe then we'll HAVE to have an announcement, by default, simply because everyone will know.

However, Bennnnnnn, the guy who claims he is the financial something for Verizon and also thought there would be an announcement yesterday posted this at 8:18 Eastern time:

Sorry guys, no updates today unless you're interested in the Blackberry Storm 3... which doesn't even compare to the Thunderbolt.

The 10th is on schedule as far as I have been told. No clue as to what is happening with this announcement, but I expect it any day now since everything is ready for launch and was planned for two days ago. I'll try to dig up some info over the weekend regarding the announcement and why they are holding off again.

EDIT: This device WILL be getting HTCsense.com shortly after launch. It is coming. No Thunderbolts have shipped yet.

2 guys who both claim to have deep inside info are giving completley opposite claims....grrrrrrrrrr

Well really the only difference in their stories is whether the devices have shipped or not. They're both still saying a release no later than 3/10. For that matter, who knows if their talking about the same shipping locations. Maybe HTC has shipped to a regional VZW warehouses (if such things exist) but they haven't shipped to any retail establishments (i.e. BB or VZW retail stores). In this case, both posters could be correct but from a different perspective.

What does it mean? Who the heck knows. I'm holding out hope for the 10th, but I'm not holding my breath either.

For what it's worth, there may be regional wharehouses according to CS rep I spoke with yesterday. I was trying to order the Cosmos Touch (seems like the only decent non-data phone VZW has) for my wife but it was out of stock on the website. The CS rep said the she saw it available in other parts of the US just not the West Coast.

I did ask about TB and got the usual I have no info. She even said that callers give her more info than she has, then tried to sell me the *Phone.
 
It looks like many have lined up behind the march 10 thinking, so count me in. Geez, peer pressure!

If this is the case, then insider sharing should be running rampant this weekend. There may be a lack of bb leaks, though, because I think our favorite bb son, jay, said he'd be out of town the next couple of days. Would it kill someone out there to get hired and do a shift or two so we can continue the information flow???? :p

In the meantime, don't let me miss anything important, okay? Is there a paging feature or some kind of alerting app. built in to our membership here? :)
 
I got an HTC Evo with Sprint, they've got a 30-day trial period for new customers where you get credited back if you cancel the service (activation fees, plan usage, etc etc). I'll tell you, the HTC Evo, running CM7, is a rock-solid phone.

I wonder with as many problems as the TB has had prior to it's release, if it will be just as if not more problematic after it is released. As hyped as I am about this phone, constantly worrying about it's delays is not helping, so I'm back to what I love about Android, r00ting phones and flashing roms, theming, tweaking, etc.
 
I checked in our inventory system today and it still shows none on order for us to receive so i highly doubt that we are going to get any in for the 8th. Issue being that It has to first show up as on order in our inventory system before it is shipped and for us to receive the product. Generally i have never seen an item get added on over the weekend and show up on monday it doesnt happen because these phones will more than likely be dropped shipped meaning ups will drop them off. If i was everyone i would just hope for the 10th but don't be surprised if its the following week
