He just finished and he said absolutely nothing about the TB. Just that some "4G LTE devices will be out shortly."

I hate this "before the second half of the year" stuff. Whatever happened to getting the TB released before the end of 1Q? I know they have gone down to the wire with releases before, but I can't help but get the feeling that they are planting the seed that this release might get pushed back to April or something.
Otherwise, why not say that they hope to have the first LTE device out before the end of Q1 with several more out before the second half of the year?

Well, I caved after hearing all the Quarter 2 rumors yesterday. Been waiting on the TB since the beginning, and my old phone just couldn't take it anymore (Touch Diamond, ugh) - so I headed to the good Best Buy near me and bought a Droid X, since I'm tied to Verizon regardless. It was either that or that Apple nonsense, which my boyfriend was rooting for. 
If the TB comes out in the 30 day window, I'll exchange through BB. If not, I guess I'll hang tight with the X for a while. It's my first Android based phone, and while it may not be the latest and greatest, I've loved every minute with it so far.
But a little piece of me will still be waiting and hoping every day for that TB to strike...

Best Buy does a 30 day window? VZW does 14 days, right?

Best Buy does 14 days as well.
At BB you have 30 days to return the phone, but you are still locked into contract.
AT both BB and VZW you have 14 days to return and cancel your contract.
Ahh, okay. I'm a VZW subscriber now and want to continue no matter what. So, I guess BB would be a good place to go and grab a temp phone.
FYI: I am in a situation where my BB exchange window is ending on the 14th. VZW said they will honor the early upgrade discount if a return the phone I bought from BB and buy a TB from VZW when it is released.
Also, the BB store manager may also be willing to work with me on price if I utilize the buyback program when the TB is released... so two paths... which to follow

Yup, I'm tied to family plan, so I know I'm sticking with Verizon - the 30 days is for trading out phones through BB, which is a nice option if the TB decides to show its face!
Of course, I see that today the Droid X2 got leaked....FML.

Lol, this is true - I felt better once I saw the specs - though the front facing camera would be nice, that's one of those...meh...features to me.
As far as Motoblur...that will be eliminated once I'm back from vacation and have time to do some real work on the phone
Keeping it BB related - the guys at my store were SUPER helpful and very frustrated with the TB launch. They said they've had a lot of people with pre-orders abandoning ship in the past week, sadly.

I know that Costco charges tax only on what you pay and Verizon charges tax on the ENTIRE phone. Does anyone know what Best Buy charges tax on?

i would absolutely love to know the total amount of company wide pre-orders (w/i Best Buy) that were then refunded. that'd tell us how many potential customers VZW lost (many of whom were probably porting numbers)

so upgrading price @ $299 (assuming the price, don't jump on this)
the tax is actually calculated based on the full retail price of $749.99?
taxes:
8.25% NorthCarolina tax @
$249=20.54 tax
$299=24.66 tax
$749=61.29 tax
so, assuming the phone is $299 with full retail tax (61.29), you pay $360.29 (before any other charges)
that can't be right. the tax alone would be almost 20% of the actual upgrade price of the phone.
and to go father, drawing that out---
$360.29 + $35 activation fee + $9 insurance + $90 (ballpark) first month service=$494.29 payment due before taking the phone out of Verizon or BestBuy)

When I got my Incredible, they only charged me for what I paid. I know CA residents get charged tax for full retail, but I didn't on mine so I think it goes by where you live.

Nah.. They dont do that in NC but I thought tax here was 7%

but looking at multiple receipts, from Target, it was 8.25% on each one
