best current deal for Captivate?

I'm interested in getting the Captivate. I had an iPhone 3G until I destroyed it trying to change the battery and so got an Aria for a replacement (Captivate wasn't out yet). My wife's iPhone 3G is also long in the tooth and she likes the size of the Aria, so she'll get that while I'll take the big ol' Captivate.

I know Amazon has it for $0.01, but I've got a corporate discount and I also have the grandfathered unlimited data, so I think I need to do it in person someplace. Costco has it for $99.99, anyone else have it cheaper?

If you are part of a family plan and you want to upgrade without changing your plan, there is an option to do so on Amazon Wireless under Upgrade my Phone and by checking that you are part of a Family account. I did it for both my and my wife's phones.

Bad news is, not only is Amazon wireless charging $49.99 for that family option (even though it was only a penny last week), the Captivates are also on Backorder.

Amazingcelldeals.com has them for $4.99 with a 2-year upgrade - can be primary or secondary line. BUT, only one line can be upgraded for that price (additional captivates are $79.99).

Of course, I've been waiting over a week for mine, now, because some how the Captivate jumped out of the box enroute...

wirefly.com is now offering free samsung captivate plus no activation fee and $30 data credit to your account. Did anyone order from them? Can you please share your experience, good or bad, when ordering with them?

Friday radioshack will have it for free. (ad states minimum of 2 per store) amazon price keeps jumping up and down.

Well, the Walmart deal runs until Black Friday. I mean if you want to wait until Friday so you can fight it out at Radioshack have at it. I still stand by Walmarts as being the best current deal. No fights and no nightmare Customer Service/return policy (wirefly).

I have a friend who just got the Captivate at Walmart for $98 dollars. Combined with the Walmart Giftcard deal they actually paid her $2 for the phone.

Dear Mr. Ed,
Buying it TODAY and knowing they are IN STOCK and Getting Paid $2 from Wal-Mart is better that having to Stand In Line and just Break Even IF you happen to get one of the 2.

You should go to Wal-Mart and Get the phone.. You get a FREE phone/PAID $2 to get the phone and $98 more to use on accessories or other things.

Yup. Walmart is where I got mine. $98 and no hassle.

All these prices you guys are quoting are for a 3 year contract right?

What's the best deal you guys have seen for non-contract pricing?

thanks!

I'm with AT&T, and just got a Captivate that I may be taking back tomorrow to replace (it has trouble playing videos). So I can buy one of these Wal-Mart Captivates and still use my AT&T service on it?

Yes, just make sure when you take it back you get your upgrade back. Then go to Walmart and get the phone (signing another 2 year contract).

Cool. If this Captivate isn't up to par (it's shut off by itself 4 times already today) then I'll take it back Friday and get my money back. I'll give them one more try from
Wal
-Mart. It's an awesome phone, but has so many quirks.

If something sounds too good to be true it usually is. Radio Shack was $50 less than the corp store when I bought mine.

I just got my captivate about 2 weeks ago.. I got it for only $20 on Amazon's wireless site.. And at the time of purchase, there was also a $1 deal for new contracts..

I forgot to mention.. In case it matters, the $20 price point was for an update with a 2 year contract

The Walmart deal for the giftcard ends on the 25th (Thursday), if you want that deal you only have a day.

Do people just respond to forums without reading these days? Is that how it works?

It's actually for 2 years. I'm not really sure about the competition for off contract prices but theoretically the Walmart Giftcard should still apply, scratch that. It only works for upgrdes.
