Best DUAL SIM android phone?

I agree! I ordered Lenovo P770 yesterday mainly because of battery life, etc., one year ago I ordered Motorola XT532, specs are now REALLY different for dualsim, the coast is always changing...

Ive looked online and Lenovo P770 and Lenovo p700i look good.

So what are the latest best dual sim phones out there? I want to buy one..thanks

If you can wait, then the first Quad-core dual sim phones, based on MTK6589, sould be out within the next months. The should be fast and be dual sim full active.

Let me first say that I am based in Europe....

I was looking at the Lenovo P770, but I see that the network does not support 800 MHz!
The specs say
Dual Sim, supports W+G / G+G
2G:GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz
3G:WCDMA/HSPA: 900/2100MHz

Am I right in saying that this is as much use as a bucket of steam in a desert? Because all the countries across Europe were forced by European Legislation to switch off analogue television and use the 800MHz band for 4G from 2013 onwards.

The Commission is also considering a plan for harmonizing the 800 MHz band in the ultra-high frequency (UHF) range, which is particularly suitable for new generations of mobile broadband. The ITU World Radiocommunication Conference in 2007 (WRC-07) gave ITU Member States from Europe the option of opening up some of the UHF bands for sharing by mobile services, under certain conditions.
Switching to digital television

some details here and here.

So will there be a Lenovo dual sim phone that will work in Europe?

Hi Lenovo,

I am from Czech Republic (CZE), gsm operators are in 900 and 1800 range, so so far it is OK for CZE and I guess it could cause the trouble to operators and unrest to change it quickly.

If you were talking about 4G, it was a dream to have 4G in CZE one day :-))) but consumers wanted more services than speed so T-Mobile has cancelled it, 4G concept is nearly dead in Czech Republic I guess, 3G is massively supported by operators.

The phone supports 2G and 3G networks, so I don't really get why it should be at problem, that it does not support 4G frequencies...

I can see that you have highlighted that 2G supports 850MHz, and compare that to 4G 800MHz network. Even if the phone had 2G 800MHz, you would not be able to use it on a 4G 800MHz network, you do understand that right? 2G, 3G and 4G are different technologies using different frequencies. So no, you are not right.

Thanks Emilf for your reply...I can wait for 1 or two months but I need a good ,a bigger (like e,g 5" inch screen) and dual sim supported phone...I will be using it mainly as phone and facebook plus internet surfing, rarely youtube videos...BTW what is coming next and specs? Thanks once again.

I was thinking about this one, but I do not know much Zopo models and my key decider was the battery life of Lenovo. This one may suit your requirements:

ZOPO ZP950 Leader MAX Free DHL Android 4.1 Dual Core Dual Sim 5.7 inch 8.0MP Jelly Bean [3533] - US$279.99 - Smartphone Professional - EtoTalk

Does anyone own this model? :D

There is also very costy dual sim Samsung Galaxy Note II, but I do not know if it is official or not:

Samsung GALAXY Note II N7102 16G Android4.1 DSFA Quad Core 1.6GHz Dual Sim 5.5 1280x720 GALAXY Note II 3G WCDMA Android4.0 Quad 1.6GHz Dual core Dual Sim 5.5HD [3320] - US$899.99 - Smartphone Professional - EtoTalk

Personally I think that the ZTE V987 looks really good, and it is a quality brand. It is 5" 1280 x 720, Quad-Core MT6589, 1GM RAM, 16 GM ROM. The price should be around $300.

It will probably be out in march or april.

Personally I would not go for those cheap Chinese brands like Zopo, Star, UMi, JiaYu and so on. That is based on my personal experiences, where I find that the quality is not wary good, and often there is serious problems with functions like GPS, WiFi. Again, just my personal experiences (having owned allot of different dual-sim phones), but knowing that allot of useres is perfectly happy with them...

I would go for brands like ZTE, Lenovo, Huawei, Samsung, HTC... The Samsung is the real deal, and apart from the price, it should be really good.

THANKS polvo for the information...I will consider it when make a decision what to buy.
FEW QUESTIONS: How secure is the payment to etotalk? has anybody bought from them? Should I buy from aliexpress.com or etotalk?
2- Can these phones be rooted?
3- Is there any dedicated forum for these phones like xda or elsewhere? I shall be thankful in advance.

I have bought from etotalk several times, and generally shipping is fast and communication good. I would suggest that you pay for DHL shipping, as it is faster and safer.

Regarding payment, they accept PayPal. PayPal have a guarantee where you can get your money back if you do not recieve the product or it is not at described. I have used this once for a defective phone, and gotten a full refund from PayPal. The aliexpress payment is not as reliable in their "claim" handling I have read - you can't really trust their guarantee. I always use PayPal when shopping from China.

Regarding root, I have read that etotalk will not root it, due to warranty from Samsung. Don't know if that is still the case, but if not they normaly have a "etotalk mod rom" that includes root and install of Google Apps. Remember that Google Apps (like Google Play) is not there from the factory, and you need root to install them.

Thanks EmilF for your reply. If etotalk install a modded rom and I have to factory reset at some point. Will the rooting go or it will still be there? As I did rooting for one of my tablet and I have to do resetting due to some problem. After reseeting it needed rooting again..

Normally you won't lose root by doing a factory reset, and I would not think that it would be any different for this phone. But better to ask the before you buy ;)

Here are a new dual sim by spanish company and I'm very glad and interested for that reason.

Here is the link, I'm sorry but I don't view results on Google in english

Nice comment... Good luck finding a 4 inch android with ICS, GPS, 3G, does 49 languages, has a Broadcom BCM21654 1GHz ARMv7 rev 9 and a 1 year US warranty at that price.

It is really a joke selling at phone running Android 4, having only a outdated single core CPU and 256 MB/RAM.

And no I cannot find another phone running "Broadcom BCM21654", but that is probably because it is an old, outdated chip from 2011, and that there is far better alternatives out there. And you really mention GPS - try to find a phone not having that...

Thanks for the post. But we couldn't read what is written there.
If you open the URL in Google Chrome, the browser automatically translates it to English for you - or at least my browser version does.

But I can save you the time and tell you
there is no mention of it being 4G compliant only

  • screen of 4.5 inches
  • 960

Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos is the best good quality dual sim phone with good features . it has a 5 inch wvga screen, dual core cpu, 1gb of ram and comes with Android JellyBean OS

Well that is debatable.

At this time there are a lot of candidates.

Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos
HTC T528w
ZTE V987

I prefer the HTC by the DFSA feature

If you compare all the 3, which is the best? Comparing screen contrast, performance etc.

The better is the Samsung but is the most expensive. The second one will be the HTC and finally the ZTE with Mediatek processor.

I prefer non Mediatek processor, for that reason I prefer the Samsung, HTC or Huawei G600 but this has only 768Mb of RAM

You must mean the Samsung GALAXY Note II and not Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos then ;)

In terms of performance and screen quality the V987 outperforms the HTC by miles. It has Quad-core 1,2 GHz vs. Dual-Core 1,0 GHz and 5" 1280x720 IPS vs 4,3" 800 x 480...
